The argument for fully embracing the Macarthur as home for the Wests Tigers.

They're vocal at Leichahrdt when we are winning. Don't kid yourself, you could have heard a pin drop there when we were trailing the Titans there some weeks ago
Because there was no Titans fans there! It was all Wests Tigers fans and we don't cheer when another side scores. It's not hard to work out
Most Leichardt games are usually with out of town teams and so very little support for opposing sides. There is never any cheering for when.opposition teams score because we are not supporting them. Very different to when we score.

Reply of the decade...

100% correct.

These people wouldn't know what a real home ground sounds like because Campbo is packed to the brim with away fans...I shudder to think of what the crowd numbers would be if you removed away fans.

I think where we play, where the CoE is, where we train, what is our area etc are secondary things..

We could have the entire Sydney to pick from but we would still turn good players into bad ones the way we are going.

Melb went to a city that has almost never produced an NRL player and were successful there even before the salary cap stuff.

Souths and Roosters basically have no Juniors but are successful.

All this talk about "play here, train there, go to schools here, lobby the Govt here etc" are just distractions from the main issue.

We need a coaching director, a good pathways director and a head of football that can help senior coaches coach junior coaches, senior physios train junior physios, senior trainers train junior trainers etc. We need a proper self functioning system like that.

Where it happens is irrelevant. Once we get a bit of money, we can have scouts in all potential places just like all other Clubs do.

We not shit because we play at Campbo, we are just shit.

What is extremely difficult is how to do this all without $$. Hence, like nomads we just keep moving to different places, appeasing different crowds to ensure our funding doesn't dry up. Ideally, you want your NRL games to be the main attraction for your fans which won't happen unless we are self sufficient with our funding. We are still struggling to find the balance between having an identity of one home ground vs being a mercenary and go wherever we can make money.

Got no idea how we solve these issues, but I'm sure the arguments about the McArthur region are pointless when we don't have anything. We keep thinking that should we be in this area or not but the truth is that neither McArthur nor the Inner West deserves a shithole like us.

Very Honest.

Just did some digging. We have a 38% win record at Commbank. Shall we commence the Commbank bashing?

Go nuts. While WankBest is a good, modern ground, it's a shit place for our club to play football. Especially when we schedule "home" games against the grounds main tenant there.

I'd rather us go back to 6/6 at LO and CSS. Play in our regions, not Parra. Problem is we get FA from our owners so we have to go looking for these big stadium deals to keep solvent.

Part of this problem is that we don't play enough in either area and have rightfully been called nomads for the longest time. Pretty sure at one point we had five "home" grounds in one season where we played 3 at LO and CSS, 1 at Tamworth, 1 at Magic Round and whatever was left at Parramatta. How are you meant to entrench yourself anywhere, let alone your areas if you're playing half the time elsewhere, sometimes not even in Sydney or NSW? It's a joke.

Do you think putting more trashy Magpies on the Tigers jersey might help? Seems to be the only idea that's come out of HQ for a while along with the big shift to Campbo.

The other stuff you say may or may not be relevant because there is zero transparency around what we spend on those things from HBG. I personally asked Shaun the question about funding and he had no idea and would "take it on notice". That was 2 weeks ago. How does a CEO not know what funding his club gets from the owners and where it is spent?

He comes with big wraps from the Mariners, but the on-field results were shit other than one title...they are also shit now after he left...not sure this bloke will help us one iota despite seeming like a decent bloke to have a beer with.

All the old Westies hiding behind progress to move to our 'growth area' but secretly loving the erosion of anything Balmain.

First it will be 8-3 split...then a dirty big Magpie looking over Victoria Rd at Rozelle with the new leagues club, then full-time at Campbelltown with huge tacky front and sleeve magpies on the jersey.

The agenda is disgraceful and they are alienating the only fans that turn up and support the club.
Agenda ????
YOU talk about agenda ?? !!!!!!
Take me now, I've seen it all.
Oh, and by the way, the "old Westies" may or may not secretly loved the "erosion" ( such a light term to use to describe what Balmain did to itself), but they had absolutely nothing to do with it. All Balmain, sorry.
The hatred, and not secretly I might add, is from Balmain folk to anything related to Wests.
Saying things like " a dirty big Magpie". "tacky front and sleeve Magpie on the jersey"
So insulting to the people that had to bankroll the "erosion" of Balmain.
All the while remembering that there is no agenda. Oh, sorry there is apparently.
The Wests side has an agenda against the Balmain side. They are turning them into aliens.
Funny stuff.

Do you think Wests Ashfield just handed over money to Balmain for nothing? No buddy, they received 40% of Wests Tigers, 2 operating clubs and a guaranteed lease on Victoria Rd...they've made back their "bankroll" and then some.

And yes...it's tacky to have another emblem growing in size on our sleeves when we are called the Tigers...the clubs are honoured with their emblems on the back of the neck. We don't need those ridiculous logos on the sleeve.

I don't think your first para is relevant to what I'm saying.

In terms of the other thing, I don't know about Shauns experience at Mariners. It's disappointing if their results haven't sustained as that would be a true indicator of an operator's performance.

In terms of the funding, I doubt any CEO will be transparent about finding that is not available in the public domain.

I asked him about a figure that is specifically in the public domain.

What did you ask him
Of the 1.5 million in "football department expenses" listed on the HBG annual financial statements, do you know what this is and where it goes in relation to Wests Tigers?

All HBG financials are public and include Wests Tigers reporting...not sure if you were aware?

@weststigers You need to accept that our future lies in the South-West. It's why we will be playing the majority of home games there once both grounds are renovated. A couple of games there a eyar was never enough from ther Macarthur region to feel the Wests Tigers are their club. We should have moved out there full time years ago. As previously mentioned by others, the whole box and dice. COE, training included. the area has been neglected far too long which is on us.

Finally, maybe be a little more respectful of that the trashy Magpie you speak of. He's the one that gives you a team to support. Hope to see you out at Cambo mate.

Richo did a magnificent job of getting funding for both of our home grounds, hopefully we have four or so blockbusters at LO for the next 10 years from 2028.

Next mission should be to turn Campbo into a fortress with a bit of atmosphere. The noise in that place just evaporates.

It sounds like you're asking him how we are spending our money. I don't think he's going to give anyone information about that.

HBG's financials are public and have quoted them in multiple threads and looked at their Annual Reports.
