It would be a tough decision for potential assistant coaches hey!

On one hand, if they are part of the coaching team that turns this club around, they will be knighted.

On the other hand, they may be concerned about Benji's lack of experience & success and see it as detrimental to their future. In saying that, it hasn't hurt John Morris if the rumours are true.

Conversely it could be seen as a progression opportunity to a top grade gig

What’s your solution man? You guys have been saying the same shit over and over for weeks now .
I’m sick of reading it . It’s every thread . I’m just as off this club as anyone , but this is next level ridiculous .
Fire Benji ? Cool ! You reckon the team is shit now …. Wait until march . So if the club has hitched its wagon to Benji , which it has … whether you agree or don’t .
Then what’s some other ideas to get Benji and the team winning .
For me I love the idea of Ben Teo at defense . I’d look to get Shane sultana higher in the club , as he seems to have that magic dust for winning footy matches .
Attacking coach is much harder . Because that’s the person I think would be the one to supplant Benji . And it would take a very secure coach to hire his potential replacement . I’m not sure Benji is that guy.
I genuinely think the issue is 2 running halves . One who runs his outside men into touch , skips back in , and the other who can’t pass the ball and doesn’t really seem to value setting other people up to score .
Watch the KOE especially when Latu and Javon played together and there’s 2 halves whose first option is run … sure , but it’s very very very closely followed by the second option of putting someone through a gap.
And , from my experience , there’s nothing better than doing some trickery , which you meant to do , whether it’s a faint , or dummy inside to put someone over .
Even identifying a weak defender and telling your half to engage them for a no looker inside , and you go through untouched . There’s nothing better. I genuinely don’t think our nrl halves feel this way , and they prefer to be the guy stepping 3 blokes to score . And ultimately in the nrl that rarely gets you tries .
The guys in KOE definitely think this way . Issue is they’re both very young , ones an arm grabber because he needs another offseason in the gym , the other has a technique that has been outlawed .
I wouldn’t blood them yet for whole games . But I’d definitely blood them for the cowboys , not the roosters and depending on which team the panthers field ie. if it’s thier KOE team then them as well.
That’s my actual solution. We need to get Sukkar making better choices defensively . Same for Masi . He’s 18 he will get there . We have the right choice made for right centre already . Averillo will be good . So we have the right edge sorted KPP, averillo , Tito . And the left edge sorted Fainu , May , Masi .
We need a ball playing lock . IM telling AD that’s him . We have the backup dummy half in Brailey who I would have gone after .. Twal goes to 10 next to May 8 . We get Leniu from the roosters .
So a bench of brailey , Pole , Leniu ,( Sukkar/Roberts/ young gun forward / Lanyon as a 13, as we need to transition away from usual suspects, a backup half not madden , and whichever of our many outside backs we have who are doing real well in the 2 feeder teams.
Depth of Seyfarth , Sione , whoever doesn’t get the job of Roberts , Sukkar , Lanyon , young forward , and I’d bring in an old head like Lawrie from St George to add experience in KOE. Chuck in all the young guns killing it in KOE and that’s already a fair top 30.
We screwed up this year in 2 ways . We didn’t sign a backup 9 , and we didn’t sign an edge backrower . We also over estimated guys like Geyers ability . And even Murray . I’d keep Charlie Murray btw for KOE.
These are actual solutions .
TLDR ;
Assistant coaches in Teo and a reputable attacking coach ; also promote Shane sultana to an nrl assistant coaching position as well .
Give the keys to Latu and Javon . Javon has 10 more try assist than the next bloke in any level of 2nd grade whether Q cup or KOE . Teo needs to work hard on thier techniques .
Sign - Leniu , serviceable half who can implement a system maybe the third may , another edge backrower, a Blake Lawrie type to lead the KOE pack around . I really like the 2 signings we made already .
Masi spends the year on the wing as well .

Just read that there are 5 clubs chasing Leniu and he’s not available until 2028. For both those reasons I wouldn’t bother !
Teo, I’d say highly unlikely but could add some well needed starch ! Yes, I dont think Teo he would have warm memories of his time with us.

No one . They all got injured or suspended at critical moments in thier season, and with the off field stuff with luai , there was no resilience in the team.
Real talk —- the team was built around luai and him galvanising the group and providing the leadership and backbone . When he walked , he lost the group , and one by one everybody’s head dropped .
Benji chose the wrong leader … and the heir apparent AD, IMO , proved to be a whiny , egotistical little [This word has been automatically removed] . Regardless of how I feel his apology was sincere . Not a leaders areshole . And everyone else not named api doesn’t have the runs on the board or the temperament for it(I’m looking at you Terrell) . Once we resign Samuela , which I’m confident we do, I make him the captain, I tell api mate you’re our club captain , we love you , but you don’t need the headache , and I completely change the leadership group . I put Tito and Twal in there as well . And Bula .(he’s a million dollar player and here for the foreseeable future , force him to be a leader ) ,
Guys like Seyfarth and AD , had thier chance , no one was following them . We need new voices .

Thing about Bula is he is so gotdamn honest he even seems to play footy “ honestly” , like he doesn’t dummy or trick the opposition by little deceptive things that a footy player does .. runs to them rather than making the chase him , no jinking or show and going , doesn’t step much or any little con that a league player does that puts his own self first during a game .. so gentleman like , I know it sounds weird but would like to see him just be more cagey and less predictable on the field in attack situations .. has all the talent and safe most of the time , just think he could be so much better and more dangerous

Benji gets the players that are prepared to come to this club. I think you are all fooling your self if you think any coach gets the players they want while representing this club.

Hes batted above his weight so far ...his playing reputation from 2 decades ago plus Richos smarts have delivered him a decent roster for this season
His cred is disappearing fast as a coach..Richo gone..so strategy now is to way overpay average players to retain them
Works quite well untill we run out of $$$

But weve basically got the same players next year that got us to 2nd last..less Luai

This is great in theory, but it assumes they care. If hundreds of us cancel our memberships, what difference will it make? Absolutely none.

It would depend on the money they make, and if it was enough, the supporters could use 'people' power to make them our main owners.

Wests Tigers management/ownership is like have an addiction or being in an abusive relationship.

Until you accept your reality, accept you have a problem, you won’t be able to change.

I detest having to have this conversation over and over, but until significant change is made in the way the club is governed, history will just keep repeating and repeating.

It is unsustainable. We have, without doubt, the worst ownership and governance in the NRL.

The truth is, we are owned by Magpies die hards that have over time managed to put 3 Magpies on the Wests Tigers jersey so there are now more Magpies on it than what our team emblem is.

No orange jersey despite being called the Tigers - to fit the old Wests home and away strip of one black and one white.

Moving most games to loserville at Campbelltown.

We need to accept, this club is the Magpies playing under a Tigers NRL license.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

The faster people save their dollars on this God forsaken club, the better.

People should stop supporting this rabble immediately. Let Wests have their 1999 rendition of a team they once had.

The only hope is pulling all supporter revenue and the NRL steps in, but I doubt it.

In 20 years, our logo will have a Tiger with a beak and wings playing out of loserville...in 40 years it'll be a Magpie playing out of loserville.

His shoulder injury has led to a massive drop in form , whether it be pain or apprehension to stop it popping out again , or it’s all in his head , the outcome is the same .. a guy who’s a shell of himself .
And the guys who think he doesn’t put in because his running style looks like he’s gliding everywhere , have been waiting in the wings to rip in as soon as his form dropped .
I love our fanbase , maybe 80% , but that 20% of death riding masochists , who seem to revel in the putrid state of the team . I’d love to hand those guys back .
You never see them post when we are going well that’s for sure ..

I don’t think that’s true on 2 fronts .
1-no one gives a shit about the magpies who’s under 60 . So at some point this debenture bullshit will let in someone who is mildly interested in maintaining wests magpies interests , but rather more interested in maintain HBG assets interests . So ultimately this self sabotage over jersey colours will stop with the death of the people who care .
2. When that eventuality does happen , I personally think there’s as high of a chance that HBG sell the license , with obviously the highest bidder winning , as thier interests will be in running leagues clubs and pokie dens.
When this happens , then potentially say an easts tigers gets a hold of the license …. Then all this magpies v Balmain bullshit will be moot . As wests tigers will be easts tigers or Brisbane tigers .
Especially if the nrl hasn’t committed to the Ipswich corridor .
And people on here will be spewing. Especially any diehard magpies who are still around .

Or will he be under pressure to give the KOE side every possible chance to compete in finals?

Is getting pumped in NRL actually better for their development?
I would think sure give them one or two games so they are aware of the step up in speed of play but besides that keep them in reserve grade to hopefully experience a winning side and enjoy their footy.

I was obviously being facetious about the Magpie rebrand, but not obvious enough it seems.

I'll be dead by the time any of what you predict happens anyway, so I am u likely to see it in my lifetime, but I personally doubt a Queensland team is going to play any games out of Leichhardt.

To me it's very clear the trajectory the owners are taking this and it is very Magpies and I'm done with it - we are the Magpies now and I don't support that.

I think it helps developing our combinations for next year. Id play them in the Dragons and Cowboys games. Let them play KOE for Roosters and Penrith. Then again, a taste of what the top sides dish up might give them some good learnings.
