Coach Benji 👑

Would great gets but could not see this happening unless one of the two is promised the top job if Benji fails.
Top job if promised I would chase Boyd Cordner from roosters , I think the coach there is solid for years to come so he will be waiting a long time I think , bring him in with if Benji goes it’s your team deal , Benji can pick the other assistant , , Boyd has been in and around a winning team for years , and has been assistant for a few years now , not sure exact but would be probably 3 or 4 years and around Robson , he would do the job I think

Yeah I don’t disagree that he has the hardest job in the comp and the clubs issues run far deeper than the coach.

But can Benji coach? Just because there are other issues doesn’t exclude Benji from criticism or scrutiny.

He’s shown he can’t coach. He’s not the only problem but he’s one of them.
He will end up like all coaches at every club who fail. The trouble is our position as a club does not change with coaches - where as not strangely - coaches can leave here and find success elsewhere.

Always thought Justin Holbrook would've been a good coach for us, was given the chop from the Titans when he was travelling alright, it seemed like a dumb move at the time, especially when he was replaced by the mad professor.

Timing just wasn't right Sheens was appointed and Justin was given the arse 6 months later, wonder if our owners would've been smart enough to consider it if the planets aligned.

It would be a tough decision for potential assistant coaches hey!

On one hand, if they are part of the coaching team that turns this club around, they will be knighted.

On the other hand, they may be concerned about Benji's lack of experience & success and see it as detrimental to their future. In saying that, it hasn't hurt John Morris if the rumours are true.

Wests Tigers management/ownership is like have an addiction or being in an abusive relationship.

Until you accept your reality, accept you have a problem, you won’t be able to change.

I detest having to have this conversation over and over, but until significant change is made in the way the club is governed, history will just keep repeating and repeating.

It is unsustainable. We have, without doubt, the worst ownership and governance in the NRL.

Unfortunately, the only way to make the change needed will be when fans eventually withdraw all financial support for the club and it falls to its knees.

Could this work?

Could we get Maracthur Leagues more involved, somehow?

Could this be explored further as an avenue of despair?

Has anyone asked them about running the Wests Tigers and what are the road blocks?

If they said they could do it in the right way, then surely outside pressure and the fact we don't need HBG anymore could see a change.

The football club is basically HBG , and the football club will do exactly what HBg says they want them to do , if you think this football club board is running things think again , same as our CEO , he will do what he is told by HBG , he is only a puppet , these guys on the board of HBG are grubs

Yep you're right, I was referring to knowing the specifics of what goes on with the football board.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

What about?

Could we get Cambo Leagues more involved, somehow?

Surely, it's a possibility?

It would depend on the money they make, and if it was enough, the supporters could use 'people' power to make them our main owners.

Can’t they fund the club?

Possibly, but if Benji's NRL selections, bench selections and management continue to remain baffling --
It could also be interpreted that Benji just isn't taking any advice very seriously. [or poor advice or little advice]. Player game minutes and rotations seem poor.
To my assistants--Thank you, guys, however Benji knows best. Live by the sword----die by the sword.

Those bench selections last game stank of our owners wanting to give the magpies the best chance of winning, no Roberts our Bunty, maybe Benji doesn't have as much power on all decisions as everyone thinks.

I cannot believe that this is true, however it would explain allot of the weird team selection decisions we have seen over the last 5 weeks. Should it be true, than we are beyond any possibility of success while those owners are in place.

Mate, you've said what I've been keeping my nose clean from the last few months, our owners and success, will let the forum come to their own conclusions.

#4- and do what???? What do people want with this? If the NRL take back the licence, it presumably would be issued to a new team outside Sydney and will not be Tigers or Magpies for that matter. If people are that bloody minded and want #3, great we can have Tigers and Magpies playing in the KOE with no NRL, I don't mind that but where does Tigers get the $$$? They're already skint and Magpies have already helped them when they didn't have to after Elias and co shafted you. I would love #2 to happen and the NRL force Wests Ashfield and HBG to cease the debebture system forthwith. It's a cancer on our governance and operating system. #1 any sale would be very dependent on buyer wishes as to location and branding. I don't think any buyer would be wedded to Tigers brand, Leichhardt or Campbelltown i think there would be interest in Central Coast, Adelaide, NZ etc.
the nrl would have the tigers brand to use elsewhere, East's Tigers in Brisbane were the Firehwaks bid with Ipswich jets.
