I've often thought of that possibility, problem is I doubt Skelton has the motor or defense for the 2nd row.

People just see the size and think “back rower”. It’s the most overused trope in the history of the forum. That and the terms “clean out” and “deadwood”.

Comes with being a bottom 4 team, some of the cleanouts have turned out to be decent players, the pressure to improve can cause irrational decisions/impatience.

I am wondering if Skelton will go back to the Dogs.

The Bulldogs have lost all depth in the outside backs, so they will be looking to pounce on a few players that won’t cost them a lot, so it’s highly likely Skelton will be a target:
Due to his size and power I rate Skelton as a more valuable winger than Turuva, but that’s another story,
It’s highly likely our preferred option will be having Makasini on the left wing and Turuva on the right wing.
Junior Tupou is supposedly on a very small contract with his previous clubs contributing and that being the case he would be providing us with great value and is likely to be our 3rd winger option when we are full strength.
Skelton is not going to hang around and be 4th choice when he would be definitely 3rd choice if not starting at clubs such as the Bulldogs or the Eels.

You would think he should have been re-signed some months ago … before they got Junior Tupou back…assume Skelton has had his papers marked that he won’t be back for some time … maybe he didn’t see eye to eye with BM…

Would have been a nice to have depth piece ..but looks like it’s gunna be Junior and Tavana as the depth wingers
