Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You would expect that this decision has been made by now ? Both sides would have needed to move on by now you would think …
Im thinking its done and dusted ,and will be announced during the offseason.Hence the "truce" a cple of weeks ago, despite none of the issues being addressed or truly resolved
Other clubs supposedly cant approach him rite now(cough)...but everyone can see hes a 13 or a 3 except AD
Which is why we need a proven 6 or 7
None of the young blokes is close to being proven,so Madden is the best weve gotatm...says it all

I disagree with your thoughts on Doueihi there mate. Even with the right mindset he is a terrible option in the halves.
I missed part of what I was meant to be saying.
I was supposed to say a 1st receiver run threat at 13 would really assist us if we play Latu and Andrews together in the halves.
It should have read Doueihi has the ability to play this role well in attack if he put his mind to it, but I have my doubts he is up to it defensively.
But if we were only playing him at 13 for the 2nd 20mins of the first half and the first 20mins of the 2nd half, it could keep him fresh enough for it to work, but would his ego allow him to accept it and do his best in this type of role is the question?

Clogging up what?

Numbers are true, take the income test and understand how money works. Regardless, it's not a big deal, and I'm unsure why you poked your nose into this conversion.
If you read my original post correctly, I was replying to batboy from my personal experience you goose.

It's you who needs to read up on franking credits in regard to tax, don't bother replying to this post.

Nice reality check post for us mate. Got me a little excited if im being honest. Seriously, next year could be anything, we could get the spoon, or we could be top 4 depending on how good our 2 young halves are. You just never know, they may combine, thrive and deliver together.
It is so dependent on how Benji assesses each of the players.
This year he made the call on Doueihi and Luai to be our halves and stuck to it---promises? Mistake.
IMO he should keep his promises to NIL for next year. Luai gone and Doueihi spitting the dummy.
No favours for Doueihi in the future. WT first and foremost. The lessons learned for Benji.
ie. keep an open mind from training drills-coaching and select our new halves pairing on form, including IQ for what's happening around them and understanding the big picture of game management.
And with all our new NRL recruits--Simples!

I agree his tackling technique is stupid. I hate that. He hits like a tank, no need to go soooo low and risk penalties and injury. Hopefully he fixes that. I have said for years the only way out for us is kids, and right now we sit on 2 of the most talented halves in the game. These 2 could take this club to the top with the right support.
Agree. If we could get a halves specialist coach. A Cronk or Matty Johns. That wpuld go a long way. I think Sheens got Matty Johns in for Benji and Prince in 2005.

If it’s already a done deal …There is no need to wait that I can see “for the offseason “,,.he needs a new club and we need to be looking at new players with his freed up money

maybe it has maybe it hasn’t but if you watch any of benji’s pressers thru the year there is one thing he is very strict about and that is not discussing player contracts publicly .

There is zero benefit to play things out in public

A lot of clubs have similar policies . Roosters in particular .

It doesn’t mean things aren’t happening because you don’t read it on the back page of the DT .

But what’s to play out ? Could have just cut bait with him already ..

In the meantime the player market moves on

That was a very different game one mate. You could see the way he talked, barked orders and took complete control, he is an NRL player. Obviously he wont play that well every week, but he is a genuine NRL half after just one game. He was phenomenal. Very different debut to Brooks.
Cody was good that game
