Api is turning 35y.o in 2027, very experienced.
Alex Twal is very experienced as is KPP, Jayden Brailey, Alex Seyfarth, Royce Hunt, Adam Doueihi and Jake Averillo.
Surely we will not be lacking experience in 2027?
If we want and expect more aggression in our players, that’s another story.
Playing a highly aggressive Taylan May inside of Makasini on the wing seems to be common sense and will surely happen in 2027 providing Taylan can stay injury free.
I do agree it’s becoming more apparent that an aggressive forward leader would be ideal. The problem being there are not many of these types of players around and obviously the reason why we are supposedly targeting Tyson Frizell despite his age.
With the emergence of some very good young middle forwards at the Knights and the obvious salary cap squeeze they will face tj keel the core of their players off the back of a successful season, I would say it’s highly likely the Knights would prefer to keep Frizell for another season on a low value contract and likely look to offload JacobbSaifiti who is supposedly on a 700k contract for 2027.
A fit and firing Jacob Saifiti is still a genuine enforcer and could be just the type of player we need.
In addition to this the Knights will no doubt be desperate to retain Bradman Best and will need to upgrade other emerging stars such as Fletcher Sharpe. Fletcher Hunt should be a prime target for us in 2028 and I think it would be a fair chance that let him go for 2027 if that happened.

Frizell won't be at the Knights next year, they don't have the cap space to keep him . There's 2 chances they'll release Hunt and Safiti in 27, yours and Buckley's.

They do not have the cap space to keep both of those players, if either of those players and still keep and upgrade their emerging young forwards and pay close to a million dollars per season to retain Bradman Best.
They have already lowballed Fletcher Hunt who has already advised he will test the market, so very unlikely he stays with them.
They have proven to themselves they have the forwards to get the job done and win finals games without Jacob Saifiti. That being the case, why wouldn’t they consider releasing him early and freeing up an extra 700k in cap space?

Because they don't need to free up cap space for 27. Pretty simple.

It’s not simple at all.
Much like we have had to do with upgrading the likes of Jahream, Terrell, Taylan, Heamasi and will likely have to also do if we want to retain Samuela, Latucand Fonua, upgrades are required which factors in the 2027 season.
We are in a tight spot with the Salary Cap ourselves, but not near as tight as the likes of the Knights and Dolphins who have a stack of players who are worth a lot more money on the open market than what they are currently being paid.

You've gone off early 28/29 is when the cap issue will come into effect for them. Tigers should be chasing Peter O'Sullivan.

Been getting a games under his belt so ready now or they have injuries on the quiet ( niggles to key player ) , I hope he goes well and comes hear with a winning feeling to inspire some , he is a good player and I’m really happy we got him in a position needed ( May - Alverillo is solid ) Herbert good back up

I hope he's being looked at as a centre, first & foremost.... not a halves option.

We desperately need some backs with some strike and he would really strengthen us in that area.

Always liked Averillo... he's surely about to come into his prime, at his third club and has the opportunity to lock down a position long term.

Really like the edges going into next season KPP and Averillo on the right and Fainu and May on the left should provide plenty of punch. Fingers crossed they stay injury free.

That's where strong administration is the key. As far as players are concerned I'm pretty sure Dylan Lucas is the only Moses client at the club now.
