A months-long bid to have the three siblings – Sione, Samuela and Latu – represent Mick Potter’s Bati has been rejected.

The Brothers had hoped to join Tigers teammates Api Koroisau, Jahream Bula and Sunia Turuva in the Fiji side for the World Cup.

The Tigers are trying to put together a deal to keep their No.1 retention target, Samuela Fainu, from reaching November 1.

But whether they can retain younger brother Latu, and on how much money, will also form part of the negotiations.

There was one interesting name short-listed among others for an interview: Mick Crawley.

Who cares whos his brother...can he coach defense is he any good?
I read he was at the raiders when they were poor...but unsure when he was at other clubs and if it was as defense coach

No I cannot. Other than I’ve been to busy this year to watch any games other than ours, so no I do think I am in that kind of position to, and I’m sure we have quality people in place that get paid to make it it happen. But from what I’m reading lately is there are not 3 props and/or locks on the market, not that we need 3.
I’m not comparing Twal to anyone, I just know to make our team better we need at least one more NRL run on prop or lock.
Twally for a real meat pie 🥧 this year please 🙏.
I also reckon we are only one good prop/lock away from being 9th.
 
Losing Sam would be horrific, but he’ll be in demand, so shit happens unfortunately. On the other hand, losing Latu would be the biggest self own. Extending and prioritising him was a layup after Galvin left, but for whatever reason, the club sat on their hands.
