2027 half back and five eigth

Hmmm I'm thinking the fact the club has NOT announced either new signings or departing players, much is playing out behind the scenes and yet to be announced. Would not be suprised if AD is in the mix
It’s only two and a half weeks till November 1 and they have to start paying him for the new season. So they’d wanna hurry up.

there's no way Javon Andrews doesn't play first grade this season, at 6. And preferably from round one. I also anticipate that will see a dramatic improvement in attack from our second rowers, centres and wings. The guy can play with precision and timing and likely also help Bula go to a new level. Guys like Makasini should finally see some ball with room to move instead of being used as battering rams.

People don't honestly believe that clubs back the coach over the players when your camped at the bottom of the table?
The Douehi situation would have come down to more than just Benji setting standards. The club was in damage control and needed to find a bandaid solution to stop further damage. It went way beyond just Benji making a decision.

After hearing Terrell on his podcast admit to locking himself away for a couple of weeks and how he let Benji down, it may have fed into AD's frustration with the club not upholding standards. While there is no place for it, there has to be something more to AD's walkout.

Let’s hope the lads this year have shaken those behaviours out of their system and hit it up hard. We can't win a premiership if our leaders are not leading.
If it led to AD’s frustration what was his excuse for refusing Noddy’s request to play out of the halves. AD just does what’s best for AD.
I liked AD as a versatile player, but never as a half
Sadly AD has not excelled at any position he has been given and has turned his back on two coaches. There has to be consequences, but I doubt there will be and there lies the Tigers problem.

Benji and standards in the same sentence..me thinks not!!! When Adam refused to play, then gets picked at 7 the following week, thats the moment when Benji had no standards in my opinion, weak as water!!!!
What we don't know is what AD and his manager had up their sleeve. Did Benji fold or was he forced to fold?

Next year slim pickings

Adam Douihie - not a half back, ok five eight
Jock Madden - fringe player has moments but not consistent
Latu Fainu - showed glimpses of talent
Javon Andrews - not a first grader yet

Anyone else? Maybe Benji can make a come back
Schuster will be our smokey depth cover, for Lock, 5/8 & centre.

He was our best attacker last year. I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bathwater.

If there is someone better, sure, they go in there. But at the moment, I think we might have potential, but not solid options.

Latu wont extend unless hes given the starting 7 slot, and probably deserved.Just needs an injury free run
If he dosnt extend, hes out of the picture as far as Im concerned
Dont want two rookie halves,so you need experience...so Douhi starts at 6.I really dont wish to see Douhi in the 7 jersey again ..
Andrews/Madden back ups at this stage for 6 and 7

6. Doueihi
7. Fainu

the most important thing for Wests Tigers at this moment in time is winning games. this halves pairing gives us the best chance of doing so.

Jock has some issues in his game, Javon isn’t ready for week to week grade and there’s no one else to call upon. ideally I’d have Doueihi at 13 or elsewhere but right now he’s our best option in the halves.

would like to see us sign another half, who that may be I’m not sure, but right now the above is the best option.

Yea fair point Jolls, however, we know the history between Benji and Moses, would kill Marshall to back down to Moses..me personally, bugger the manager, you show whos boss and he sits out a few weeks and plays lock. I know Benji said that we had to win but i still think he would have got a lot more respect if he stayed strong. I just saw on Hoopers pod that Christian Nicalousi saw AD on Sat and asked him what he is doing and he said he is def staying at Tigers and will be back round 1 after shoulder op and obviously no World Cup for Lebanon.

Individually he was our best attacker. However his job was to ensure everyone else could attack and he ruined that for ever other player. It meant we only had one attacking threat becuase that threat stifled everyone else.

He needs to play in a position where he just runs. Only problem with that is the 2 spots suitable are edge backrow or centre. Both spots he is suspect defensively.

He is a massive issue regarding this team moving forward with a style of attack that suits the 13 players on the field.

I'd be very surprised if AD is even at the club next year. I can't see how you can ever really recover from a blow up with the coach. Surely he's permanently on the outer with most of the playing group too.

People need to pump the brakes on Javon. He's still very young and the jump from NSW cup to NRL is enormous.

For mine, Jock and Latu are the clear 7 and 6. Jock seems to be the only genuine 7 at the club.

Having said that, likely Latu will pull a hammy while tying up his shoe laces and miss most of the season,

I’m not entirely sure about this. I think if you listened closely to the presser Benji had regarding AD playing he chose his words very carefully. He clearly said that sometimes as the coach you have to put what’s best for the team before your own ego or without worrying about what people might say about you (alluding to him looking weak). He said what was best for the team that next week was to pick the team with the best potential to win the game. That may have included considerations around injuries, debuts, alternative players, the group harmony and support etc. We don’t know.
I think he would have loved to relegate AD to ressies but saw that as an immature response that would likely inflame the situation rather than put it to bed and also likely weaken the team.
In making that decision I think he was trying to think of the team and the result rather than any desire to appease AD or Moses.

Where is he going to go? This isn’t an ordinary occurrence of a player falling out with a coach/club. He took his ball and went home, refusing to play, and is gaining a reputation of only wanting to play where he wants to and not where is best for his team. Those are issues he’ll have at other clubs too. Not sure why they would want to take a chance on a personality like that.

I was at the Dragons game and AD was our only threat.

Yep that's how it should be. I have been on and off the Douehi train but he lost me last season.

I just don't think clubs back coaches in matters where a player gets talked up in the media like Douehi has especislky at a losing club. And in Benji's case we are constantly reminded that he is a rookie yadah yadah and it is every likelihood he won't be supported anywhere given our lowly position and the whole Douehi best player tag that he seems to have a hold on
Surprisingly Douehi's form at the club has been patchy at best and at its worst was not FG standard yet he gets talked up all the time.
I was hoping for our sake and his that he asked for a release but it won't surprise me if any dramas next year will be around him and his relationship with Benji and it's quite likely that he will survive beyond the coach.
Everyone talking that Doueihi as a possible 6?
My thoughts are 14 at best OR 18 to 19 on extended bench OR Reggies OR released to take away months of bad publicity it generates.
Andrews is;
1. A good goal kicker
2. A team player
3. Bigger than Doueihi
4. Turns 20 in December ---- plenty of other players in other sides playing NRL @ 20yrs
5. Even other green skins can't defend first up. We need to allow some leeway, extra coaching. [eg. Makasini got it big time]

Definitely not centre. Early in his comeback game Souths took an intercept and Schuster almost looked like he was running backwards trying to chase. I highly doubt he will have the speed for 6 let alone centre.
Yep, but given he hadn't really had a preparation leading up to the game, after being almost garroted by Twal at training, I reckon with a full preseason under the old belt I'd be surprised if he didn't improve out of sight. Which is why he's my smokey depth player.
