Ha, need a lift and the smell of unburnt fuel from a rotary. A rallying great, Kiwi Rod Millen does know how to produce a good looking 7. I love the stance, colour scheme and sound of his rally 7. Check the idle at around 3.14.

Love it, my first car was a RX2 with a bridgeported RX7 13B in it. Loved that car

Wonder how long it will be until we're all driving around in electric vehicles? Pull into your local BP and charge the car up in 30 minutes...

I’m looking at buying a Ssangyong Rexton? The reviews and the price make them very attractive.

I think they look really good and seem pretty capable. A bargain for the price. I’m concerned they’re under bankruptcy though. If they don’t find a buyer and leave oz will affect resale and warranties (talking from experience as an Infiniti owner)

It will happen one day....the recharging as you mention is the tricky bit
Need to somehow use the energy from driving to keep the batteries charged

About 10 years I reckon. Once the infrastructure is in place it will be a no-brainer. Governments, (feds in our case) have to come to the party and remove disincentives such as the luxury tax (which is there to protect a non-existent industry - a total failure and is now just revenue raising). Battery technology will incrementally improve, especially in the area of capacity.

I brought my car in 2016 and always knew it would by my last ICE. I'll run it into the ground and then go EV.

If the infrastructure was better (like other countries) I’d buy one now

What is the go with the charging stations in new shopping centre car parks? Is that through government incentives?

I’m not sure, I imagine they’d be subsidising in some way way. Hopefully we see a huge increase in infrastructure

Yeah, I understand they have a buyer according to reports (the name escapes me atm, but not a big player), I am at an age, that resale is not a big issue, could possibly be my last big car anyway, I tend to keep them a while?, warranties are an issue, but the Australian company running the business here say they aren’t going anywhere, so who knows? Hopefully there is some sort of obligation on this, as it could happen to any company?

The other one I’m looking at, is a LDV (from china) but I just have a lot of trust in there quality to build things well? The others are simply out of my price range.

It’s a lot of car for the money and if you’re not too worried about resale it’s a bargain. Not much out there comes close for the money.Personally I’d go for the Rexton over the LDV but that’s only because I’d have more confidence in a car built in South Korea.

Agree on the SK’s.
My current Triton has over 200,000 k’s on it, so I do tend to get my money’s worth???

At the end of the day, you just never know when you are going to get a lemon?

Rod Millen, champion Kiwi rally driver, is synonymous with Mazda rallying, especially the RX7 and RX3. This is him in the Mazda RX7 FC 300hp peripheral port 13B N/A engine breaking the one minute barrier in NZ rallying.

Have you looked at the Pajero Sport? I had one as a hire car for a few days and really liked it. They’re a little more than the Rexton but not heaps.

I tow a caravan around, so I need a bit of grunt and why I have big Km’s. Who knows, I may do another trip around?

The Rexton has already exceeded my budget, my misses would kill me if I go over again??

Im thinking of ditching the Impreza and getting a Rav 4...bit of a waiting list apparently
I got a RAV4 last year and I’m stoked with it. I ordered a second one just before Xmas (not expecting to pick it up a for a few month yet ). Both are hybrids one (2021) is the top spec’s model (AWD) and the new one (2022) will be the base model (2WD).

Hi All,
Just wondering if any forum members have ordered the next Gen Ford Ranger.
If so what delivery times are you being told/expecting?
