I’m looking at buying a Ssangyong Rexton? The reviews and the price make them very attractive.
I think they look really good and seem pretty capable. A bargain for the price. I’m concerned they’re under bankruptcy though. If they don’t find a buyer and leave oz will affect resale and warranties (talking from experience as an Infiniti owner)
Yeah, I understand they have a buyer according to reports (the name escapes me atm, but not a big player), I am at an age, that resale is not a big issue, could possibly be my last big car anyway, I tend to keep them a while?, warranties are an issue, but the Australian company running the business here say they aren’t going anywhere, so who knows? Hopefully there is some sort of obligation on this, as it could happen to any company?
The other one I’m looking at, is a LDV (from china) but I just have a lot of trust in there quality to build things well? The others are simply out of my price range.
It’s a lot of car for the money and if you’re not too worried about resale it’s a bargain. Not much out there comes close for the money.Personally I’d go for the Rexton over the LDV but that’s only because I’d have more confidence in a car built in South Korea.
Agree on the SK’s.
My current Triton has over 200,000 k’s on it, so I do tend to get my money’s worth???
At the end of the day, you just never know when you are going to get a lemon?
Have you looked at the Pajero Sport? I had one as a hire car for a few days and really liked it. They’re a little more than the Rexton but not heaps.
