LIVE GAME Trial 2 vs. Dragons

Live Game Discussion
Sam Fainu the only forward that runs with intent. Pole ok as well but the rest of our pack is pop-gun level.
After more than a century, league is still about physical dominance; and we ain't got it.

As I have said previously I have watched several training sessions this year, and that game tonite reflects what I have seen at training! No intensity, lame opposed sessions not concentration on our weaknesses over the past 3 seasons. I am no coach but I would have thought that we would be running red zone attacking drills over and over again till we get it right!! But I don’t see that at training I see fluff apposed sessions. After the last few seasons of inept 5th tackle options in the red zone, do u not practice cross field kick from the 10 and 20 metre lines?? Hope they just had a bad day, unfortunately I don’t think so!

My take outs:

1.Pole to lock….Seyfarth is not the answer…..we need to recruit a decent lock for 2025.
2. Stains has no leg drive to return kicks and make yardage…move him to centre.
3. Olam looks like he is injury prone….
4. Forwards need a rocket…no PC meters….ASU back to KOE.
5. our Halves were poor tonight…

it’s going to be a tough year ahead…Pascoe and Lee will sleep well tonight…

Samuela Fainu was definitely a positive, at age 19 he looks like a huge talent.
Pole is only 20 and is maturing into a very good forward.
Stef and Klemmer do their jobs and don’t lose much to any rival prop combination.
Twal was strong as always, no issues with him.
Our right edge of Seyfarth, Papali’i, Sullivan and To’a simply did not stand up to the powerful ball running of the Dragons left edge and give us no chance because of it.

What can we say, everybody bagged the hell out of Madge for being to tough and giving us the 5 hit ups and a bomb...he got sacked and now I feel history is repeating itself only we are a weaker side...
I certainly hope Benji can toughen this lot up and teach them some passing and flair in attack...

You seem to blame Bula for the attacking failures of the entire team …this is a guy still hasn’t played more than 20 NRL games… it will take him 50 to see his best
Why the urgency to upgrade him when we did?
Don't get me wrong, I like the kid & think he handled himself well last season. I just think we were spooked into an upgrade above his value at this point. Bearing in mind I'm going off his reported contract which might not be accurate.

was not all L Brooks fault...

pathetic performance
Sullivan and seyfarth possibly played themselves out of the 17
Sezer played ok, Galvin looks to have plenty of promise
it will be a very very long year

Geez, if our attacking gameplan this season when in the opponents 20 is to go one out slow, nothing hit ups from props then I don't think Benji will survive the season.
Our attack was abysmal.
Too small, too weak, too slow, too careless.
Absolutely awful match, looked like we had spent the day at the wineries and were playing drunk.
They wanted it, our boys posted like they couldn't give a stuff. Attitude and effort got an F tonight.

We need some strike power out wide. DWZ, Johnson, Sivo, Mulitalo type players who know how to score and then you aim to get the the ball to them whenever you can in the red zone. Our centres and wingers are plain, teams can condense their defense and spoil our attack without fear of being burnt out wide.
From where though? I liked Galvin, Stef, Heath and Lobb today, and Api is always a class act. Jareem looked like he moisturised his hands with butter in the morning and Sezer looks like he's trying to adjust to the speed of the NRL again, and forgot how to kick.

Bud looked overwhelmed. Hopefully that will change, he's is a crafty player. I want to see more of the Fainu brothers, that brother combo could be devastating.

But, I'm concerned about Paps. His form was poor last year and so far it hasn't changed.

It’s hardly something you need Sherlock Holmes to investigate. He moved to a poorly run, poorly coached club. It’s bound to happen.
he had 2 good years at Parramatta in a good side other than that has been average

I did not say they are growing on trees but it’s been obvious for years we’ve lacked strike power since Noffa started to decline badly. Scoring points will be our problem again and as we saw tonight the heads drop when you can’t score. Our biggest line break threat left for Manly 😂

You can see Paps doesn’t have his heart in it
