Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Will be a few weeks before he plays a game in reserve grade, let alone NRL.
I would very surprised if that's not fast-tracked.

There are only 11 first grade games left. They will not want to go through the process of bringing him into the system, but not running him for a month or so, leaving only 5/6 games left to use him. The season could be well and truly gone by then, despite what Richo is saying publicly.

I do think there's a balance there though and a lot will depend on how match-ready he is.

I expect him to be named in Cup for next round. But won't be shocked if he's not.

I’d be surprised if they looking at him in terms of changing the course of our season. I doubt that’s the priority.

next Aussie coach maybe Kevie Walters, place you thoughts Ladys n Gents
He’d be great at it, but so would you and I Merlot.

Easiest team on the planet to coach.

You have the best players from the best comp, playing a game that started in their country, that only handful of others play, and you are, and have almost always been, streets ahead of every other country, (except for this one time at band camp and they had Benji playing flute).
If you can’t coach the Oz NRL team and win games you must be asleep. Oh wait Mal has proven that wrong to.

I think, given the obvious baggage he carries, it is indicative of us knowing we need something extra in the backline right now.

And we all know it's likely Doueihi's spot if he can hit the ground running.

Its enough of a punish listening to him in the commentary box. Couldn’t imagine being a played having to listen to him in the dressing room. He always came across to me like a glorified caretaker coach.

If he was going to come straight in, he’d be signed top 30. Not T&T.

Could play this weekend off the bench. Wests have only named 3 interchange players. I think they'll want him NRL-ready ASAP.
They wouldn't have offered a t and t if they didn't think he could contribute this year.

I think you're on the money. He'll be there sooner rather than later, with the obvious caveat of his return to the NRL scene being a smooth one.

Could play out a number of ways.

I'm optimistic.

Why?

He can play straight away under both contract, but the t and t carries less risk/commitment from the club's perspective.

To reiterate, I dont think hell be 'straight in', just that it will earlier than the 4-6 week period that Richo loosely alluded to in his quotes on the signing in the Herald on Tuesday.

I think once we are mathematically a shot duck for the eight they might consider giving May a run in the top grade, but for now they will take a more conservative approach and stick with the players they have been using . As for reserve grade, that will probably happen sooner than later, even if it’s small stints of the bench

I think his physical and mental well being will Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon what benefit he could be in the short term. There is almost zero chance they would be looking at him as a game breaker atm. You think Benji wouldn’t be totally dismissive of that suggestion if he was asked by a journo?

I think we’d be crazy to not reach out to Manu … Seems May has pitched out to him a fair few times lol

At 28 he’d still have a lot of good football left in him

Anyways, it’s nice to dream

Cobbo isn't built for Sydney. Would be homesick in a jiffy. Surplus to requirement as well - Toa and May appear a solid duo to invest in for the future (from a talent perspective).
Makasini as well next year..we cld finally be ok for centres
Staines and LL as spare wingers
Naden and Feledy unrequired
Full back not much backup tho
Need a big middle and a ball playing 13
And stay close to Moses -managed Bula
Honestly dont know where Mason fits in....Not an outside back...doesnt have ball playing skills for a 9...and needs to significantly improve defence if he wants to be a halves option

The tigers can drop him whenever they want from a T&T..

They can't do this with a Top 30 contract.

Given what Taylan is dealing with its a smart way to structure it to give the club flexibility to drop him should things go south..

I am sure they want him to be playing first grade... And as soon as he is ready to do so.. but he's been out of the game for 2+ years
