Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We SHOULD be sitting on 18 points now, with another 2 coming this weekend that would 20 points coming into Rd 16.

We SHOULD have beaten the Knights in Rd 1, the Warriors in Rd 4 and Penrith last weekend. If the boys had turned up in the 1st half of Rd 13 against the Cowboys we SHOULD have won that game well as.

Discipline, bad options (last passes etc Galvin was good for a few per game) and some questionable refereeing decisions have cost the team badly.
As I've said before, we've only copped two real hidings so far this year, a huge improvement on last season.
"they said" we have lost 6 games by 6 points , if true , take away the dodgy discissions ,or a few extra 6 agains ,and where flying hi

Not that keen on the Reynolds signing prior to signing with the Broncos he was broke from a really bad gambling problem.
He might sign for the two years that the tigers are offering considering his financial situation while leaving souths to head north.
I just hope we don't lose Latu if we sign Reynolds.
I feel for Adam. I knew his Dad, Mark...the maddest Bunnies supporter I've ever met.

I met him at a pub I was living upstairs in after seperating from my ex wife, he was a near local, at the pub regularly.
He was a bad drunk....used to get parylitic....and was putting plenty through the pokies as well as putting bet after bet on both the GGs and the dish lickers.

Sadly for Adam, he seems to have followed his father's footsteps. Hopefully he has quit his problem gambling. I don't even know if Mark is still alive, he was a very big boy and his face could rival Barnaby Joyce's rouge hue. He'd be at least 50 if not older by now if he's still with us.

Every team loses games they should win. Most of them anyway. Look at how many games Manly have choked this year. It’s not something you can constantly hang your hat on. It’s just the way the game is.

Gettable signings that could improve the squad- Corey Jensen & Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

Before you throw the Liam Knight hate campaign my way- not suggesting they fix all our woes. But, they offer solid 1st grade ability, extend our depth & don't blow the budget- allowing us to chase another top line talent or two.

Reynolds is interesting. Cobbo feels like a Richo "GI was the catalyst" type signing. I still think Fifita should be investigated- be it as a starting 2nd rower, #13 or just as a better impact bench forward than Royce Hunt.
Tyran Wishart would also be a handy signature to gain.

Raymond fatala-mariner left the field with breathing difficulties last game and the way he left the dogs! No thanks

I think Cobbo is one heck of a talent but have little faith in us getting the best out of him.

He certainly is an uplift on anyone we have in the backline on his day. I do also think his best position is fullback which would make things interesting squad wise.
Cobbo is a big body with plenty of class and if we are being honest he’s a much better centre than anyone we currently have even being 10kgs overweight, aside from maybe Taylan May if he gets back to his best.
I couldn’t play him as a fullback, I think centre is his best position and he defended well there last season, not sure where the opinion that he is not a good defensive centre comes from ?
As MT has stated I think the big issue is the doubt our club could get the best out of him and I don’t think we would get much change out of 800k if he was to consider signing with us.

Two reasons you cite, discipline, bad options, our fault.

Ref decisions, agree to a point.

The hidings were unacceptable for a first grade side.

I thought @Vicious, was pointing out that our players are better that what they’ve managed to deliver and I tend to agree, especially in this close comp.

Benji can coach, but it’s been a sporadic and uneven exercise. There’s been no general diagonal improvement upwards. And I’m just saying he desperately needs fresh insights and better influences.

We are heading south too quickly with this roster.

I would put the Galvin dropped ball in as well against Souths as a probable win.
