Agreed, but lets talk of a more modern player in our system. I mean Koroibete I think is sitting in the retirement chair now and if he isn't, he ain't coming here.

Nofo at least was in our team for ages, known as a poor defender and we barely improved him at all.

I think the key problem was we did not take a 2 progn'd approach to defense:
We had either a backs coach, working on backline
OR
we had a forwards coach working on tackling...

When Nathan Cayless came here, I kinda expected big things. Nothing happened.
Looking at Parramatta, they have 4 assistants including Cayless.

We definately need 2 assistants on Defense, one working the front row. The other working the backs. Your outer edge defense is critical. Yet Melbourne and Penrith worked out were vulnerable in the middle.

Yep seems like some roster movement is starting to happen. Trey Mooney I’m pretty sure has 3 years left on his Canberra contract

To'a has about 4 good games a season where he looks like a world beater.

The remaining 20 games he's either injured or doesn't look interested.

His defensive application is awful.

I chose Canterbury because they are right in the middle and they happen to be a geographic competitor. Makes more sense than comparing with say, the Broncos or Dolphins.

Since 2000, teams on the list from 1-6 have won 17/25 premierships. Parramatta are in that list and have won 0...so 5 clubs have won 17 of the 25 grand finals since 2000.

I'll exclude the Dolphins because they are new, but from the remaining 10 teams you have 8/25 premierships and Manly won 2 of them. The gap in success starts to look pretty dire when viewed over the long term.

I guess if your logic is to only look at the now, then you're right. 2 clubs are doing ok with little revenue. We also won something once...don't you want to do it more regularly?

Then sell the joint to someone or a consortium who has half a clue about business and building success who actually sees the value in the club as something more than their personal plaything for them to get free gameday seating and drinks from. HBG are deadbeat owners. If they don't realise we're struggling because they're underfunding us they're complete morons.

Do the sponsors meet that clown Burgess? If I was a sponsor I'd run if I knew he had anything to do with my sponsorship money.
