Agreed, but lets talk of a more modern player in our system. I mean Koroibete I think is sitting in the retirement chair now and if he isn't, he ain't coming here.I think we look at players that go elsewhere and kick on and apply their recruitment strategy to ourselves.
If you have a strong system, like Melbourne and the Roosters, then you can train the players to be better and defend their errors while they are on that journey.
Marika was in our system for 4 years and we didn't improve him in those areas.
Until we have that, those players will be a liability for us and they won't realise their potential at our club. It starts with funding.
Yep seems like some roster movement is starting to happen. Trey Mooney I’m pretty sure has 3 years left on his Canberra contractThe trees are starting to shake let’s hope we can out leap the other people trying to catch the falling fruit. Also let’s hope we get some prior info on any future shaking trees, you don’t want to fill your basket on the first windy day
just wish the ground would stop shaking with it. We need some wins to change the narrative. The trees are starting to shake let’s hope we can out leap the other people trying to catch the falling fruit. Agree. I think I've seen Toa have about 1 good game and that when we pumped NQ by about 60 pts a few years ago. Other than that, I don't think he'd play 1st grade for anyone else. He can beat it with Twal. Both are ineffective in their positions. (Spare me Twals stats too, he's a work horse but that hasn't helped us win).
I chose Canterbury because they are right in the middle and they happen to be a geographic competitor. Makes more sense than comparing with say, the Broncos or Dolphins.I'm not doubting the 1.8 million grant from HBG but you only use the dogs as a comparison - what about throwing in Warriors, Cronulla, Manly, and Canberra who are all in the bottom 6 clubs for commercial revenue yet 2 are in the Top4, 1 is in the 8 and 1 is just outside the 8. They seem to be doing ok on not much more than the tigers.
He plays big minutes and is hard to handleHamlin-Uele given permission to leave Cronulla.

i'm sure he is asking for more but apart from the HBG grant and the NRL grant all other revenue streams are Wests Tigers responsibility and we are lagging way behind in all those areas.wouldn’t richo be hounding them for money ? or is it understood he’s to work with what he’s got
Then sell the joint to someone or a consortium who has half a clue about business and building success who actually sees the value in the club as something more than their personal plaything for them to get free gameday seating and drinks from. HBG are deadbeat owners. If they don't realise we're struggling because they're underfunding us they're complete morons. This post had me thinking back to Kerry Packer’s classic senate estimates spray when he told the powers that be -
“I am not evading tax in any way, shape, or form. Now, of course I am minimising my tax, and if anybody in this country doesn't minimise their tax, they want the heads read. Because as a government, I can tell you you're not spending it that well that we should be donating extra.
HBG could well mount the same argument 👍
According to the Australian Financial Review report the club was valued at 42million.If someone wanted to buy out HBG to take ownership of the club, how much would they be up for?
Yeah mate, well they certainly can't go much lower can they? This post had me thinking back to Kerry Packer’s classic senate estimates spray when he told the powers that be -

To'a used to be good for one good game a year. By my count he's had three really good games this year. He's trending upwards.Toa has done nothing to earn a pay rise or even an extension. We need to find better, we can't keep lamenting our lack of pace, X factor and poor defence am but then keep re-signing the same players with these issues
Why a month after June 30? Would have been a handy mid season pickup.Yep seems like some roster movement is starting to happen. Trey Mooney I’m pretty sure has 3 years left on his Canberra contract
Do the sponsors meet that clown Burgess? If I was a sponsor I'd run if I knew he had anything to do with my sponsorship money. Then sell the joint to someone or a consortium who has half a clue about business and building success who actually sees the value in the club as something more than their personal plaything for them to get free gameday seating and drinks from. Good old Benny tried it...not sure what would be worse. He was talking to Kent saying the first thing he'd do is out Michael Cheika in charge of development. If someone wanted to buy out HBG to take ownership of the club, how much would they be up for?
