I'm not sure what point you're trying to make except maybe tar me with the 'apologist' tag, which is fine.

But the point being made was the fear the club might cease to exist due to a lack of support. Which you just pointed out...the club has a lot of supporters.

Which is the point I was making.

Fans will continue to turn up.
 
A very sad day for the club. I was really excited about next year but not now.

I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of Patons mouth going forward. These clowns are dead set on a course of self destruction. As they say you reap what you sow.

But if you were a marketing professional, you would likely think that the strongest supporters of a football club would be those reading and posting on a supporters forum in the offseason, or making / viewing fan podcasts in the offseason. From the evidence available, what has occurred doesn’t appear to have exactly helped support for the club.

I would think marketing professionals would be taking in all the available data they can.

And probably waiting to see what happens in the future.

Fortunately a lot of the clubs sponsorship is locked in.

Not sure if this has been suggested but I think the WT board appoint the CEO and not HBG? If so, could it be that HB wanted Richo out for whatever (I think he may not have consulted them on some decisions) and potentially couldn’t get the numbers via the independents?
Pretty dumb and public blood letting if true but I am just trying to understand the motive here? Perhaps the whistleblower raised questions with HBG over the Enrichd monies? Many have suggested that it’s a ploy to get the Magpies back? I am not so sure - I think there is something else at play here.

I love your optimism Chad, and I have nothing against you if that's how you're taking this, but I do think you're being a bit naive.

I've been involved in similar situations and you'd be surprised at how petty things can get amongst adults who should know better. That doesn't mean I'm necessarily right, but I've seen this play out before and just drawing on what I see and some.experience. You have to ask yourself, why would anyone want to make changes at board level after the results we achieved? It was the biggest shock in rugby league out of nowhere.

There's just no way you'd spear 4 independents unless you didn't like how the votes were going against your agenda.
seperate ro that, Wests Ashfield have 2 member elected board members...both speared...member elected! You can't make this stuff up...it's been going on for years.

It doesn't seem strange to you that every single person making commentary is all saying the same thing about the owners? I haven't heard one commentator take your view on things and these guys are closer to it than you and me.

I don't want this to be a pissing contest about who is right or wrong. Respect your opinion and you're entitled to have it. I know I was a little sarcastic before, but I like you and value your contribution, so I hope you haven't taken offence at any of my comments.

I'm just quite sure that with all the CEOs, coaches (2 of which have gone on to win premierships), players, staff, chairmen and board members we've gone through that it's probably time to point the finger at the owners because they either can't pick quality people, or they're getting in the way.

Do I think HBG are great. Nope.

Do I like that Richo is gone? No.

The agenda people are talking about WAS brought up by Lee Hagipentalis. Now, this can be taken two ways. It could support an argument. Or it could make you remember a lot of the things Lee used to say when he was on the board & make you question it internally a little.

Whatever the reason is for what HBG have done- I can pretty much guarantee that my level of outrage about it will make zero difference.

So again, I hope the next guy is good. And I hope we win in Round 2. And anything that happens between now & then....well, it happens.

HBG are not a new entity to the club. Everyone was quite happy putting pitchforks into Lee & Pascoe- they made decisions under HBG leadership too.

I understand the frustration people are facing. But the reality is- not a whole lot changes. We are whipping ourselves into a frenzy about perceptions.

It's not about perception when it comes to governance and failure. Up until recently I think very few understood how the board were elected and their entitlement to those positions.
I can tell you I had no idea about the debenture system when Pascoe was appointed.
There is no accountability for their immense power to control the direction of the club which they exercised this week. And history will show that their is a common denominator in our failure and they are still there

Last year may have been somewhat enjoyable for you Chad. I enjoyed the tear’s grit. Richo & his board along with the football department improved the team.

As of a week ago, the club is now being run by a small group of people with no real skills to do so, you enjoy that.

I identify as chilled and not worked up.

I have actually never said I would not support the team. I will just continue to campaign to get HBG out.

Not sure if you remember Nathan Tinkler when he owned the Knights? If the owners have nothing to do with results, what do you think contributed to their issues under his ownership? Even the great Wayne Bennett couldn't get anything out of them.

And before you get worked up about me being worked up. I can assure you...I'm not worked up.

When did HBG assume control of the Wests Tigers?

If we want to assign blame for a moment when failure began, lets start with what started the process.

Then you can work your way back to rectifying the situation.

I have my theories on when things went sideways, but I'm 'really worried' that I might get called an apologist, kool-aid drinker or even a Magpies fan. I'd be interested to hear when the HBG group assumed control & started the clubs downward spiral into oblivion.

Your probably correct...most league fans arent interested in BS club politics...they just wanna cheer for their team

Why did Richo put in clauses? Don't know. Because he wanted to ensure he worked with Barry O'Farrell? Who knows? Why didn't previous CEO's have those clauses?

You can be as pissy with me as you want. I don't care. I'm not happy Richo left. But, it's not about to change my support of the club. I don't follow the CEO. I hope the next guy is good. And until someone with more clout than HBG takes over the club, I'm not about to let it get me so worked up that every post is akin to the sky falling on my head.

The club existed before Richo & with HBG. It will after Richo & with HBG.

Mate your apathetic response , is the reason we have been shit for 25 years . Because that’s how we all felt. I’m gonna live the club regardless. Only by being apathetic do we allow these people to go unchecked . We have lost a whole generation of fans by this ineptitude . This is history repeating itself.these guys have sacked 8 board members in less than a year 3 chairmen and 2 ceo . Do you know how crazy that is ..// it’s bonkers. It’s like we are being run entitled rich kid with ADHD . It’s soo dysfunctional.
