HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

That's the one. I think the reps are actually technically split between 1 HGB and 1 Wests Magpies (Leo), but I did see a prior poster mention that he had joined the debenture holders too.
No doubt a Burgess stooge at very least.
Good to settle Who's Who in the Zoo!

I will say in fairness to Darcy, I don't know him personally, but I have no doubts he's a legitimate serious supporter. @cochise or one of the podders could also chime in because they've spoken with him.

I see Darcy regularly at home games and he's also often watching matches at the club; never seen him do this in his capacity as mayor, always dressed casually and keeping to himself.
I’ve seen him watching and supporting the Tigers at the pub a fair few times when we’re playing away games with a few friends.

I’ve seen him a few times in the inner west doing this a few times; like you said dressed casually, low

He’s a legitimate supporter and I don’t know him personally.

Known debenture holders include:
  • Peter DiMichiel (Chairman)
  • Dennis Burgess (Chairman, also a Director of Wests Tigers)
  • Kevin Hammond
  • Daniel Lane
  • Clare Burgess
  • Fiona Shand
  • Russell Smith
  • Brian Cook
  • Mick Liubinskas
  • Scott Beynon
  • Paul Marsh
  • Allan Fallah (Appointed recently)
  • Leo Epifania (Appointed recently)
  • Bob Cairns (Appointed recently)
  • Tony Raciti (Appointed recently)
There are some very good people on that list 👍

The events of the past week had ZERO to do with the colour of the jersey. I personally think it looks hideous - but none of the Board shenanigans are in any way tied to this fashion faux pas.

But hey, every time the Wests Ts hit the headlines - the usual Wests/Balmain tropes and myths are unleashed 🙄
Mentioning that the Tiger is a strong brand is not a Balmain trope. It’s an opinion backed up by fanbase data. The Wests Tigers large fanbase are its strength. It’s obvious from their behaviour that the HB Group are not qualified to run a NRL franchise. Smart investors let the experts run the show. PVL’s silence smells to high
heaven.
No, I’m sure this is the right place. We’re all Wests fans here 👍
You mean we’re all Wests Tigers fans here.

It'll be back to what Madge and Potter had to put up with. Everything being picked at and pulled apart by the Board, results of end of season reports ending up in the SMH. CEOs and Coaches being sacked by people without a clue. Changing plans all the damned time. They can't leave it the way proper outfits know how to govern and they think the club is their own personal possession. And also being Magpies they'll act as if things never went bust at lidcombe, never went bust at Campbelltown, and that the last 10 years of failure had nothing to do with them either.

Being a debenture holder of a leagues club does not make you as an individual person the owner and king of Wests Tigers or the Magpies.
Leaks have already started. It was airtight under the independents with only the HBG dramas being leaked.

Now we’re hearing it’s Mestrov, and all this news coming out from insiders in the club.

Wests, Tigers, Wests Tigers. It’s all the same.

Clare Burgess. Wife of Dennis.

Julie Romero was the partner of Peter Hardgrove. His brother was John Hardgrove, gave up his debenture holder status.

The Hardgrove's appeared to be good people, but as you can also see, It's simply a clique. It's who you know.
OF Denyy needs to keep the missus busy with something while he surfs the internet for entertainment!

If anything HBG held onto Madge too long & it was Lee & Pascoe via Sheens that moved him on.

Cleary moved once he realised Nathan wouldn't come to the Tigers. Not sure HBG had much to do with that.

Pascoe...here is what I'll say about HBG. If you are the significant share holding financier....whatever they are....no company owner is "hands off". What kind of company would hand everything over to someone else & expect no say in it?

Pascoe was given enough rope to hang himself 10 times over. HBG allowed him to do that.
That's a good point in Pasco had enough rope to hang himself 10 times over, after what has transpired this week how do we know how much of the mediocrity was his and how much was from an overbearing boardroom at HBG.
It can't just be Pasco. Cleary no doubt left for Nathan I don't dispute that at all but even then the media were reporting he saw Wests Tigers as too hard an environment to work in with the boardroom garbage. Madge didn't stay too long. The board hamstrung him by telling him how hard he should be training the guys. Instead of walking like Richo did he compromised and accommodated them and we got nowhere fast. He leaves wins origin, takes the Kiwis they win, then first year at Brisbane they win the comp. Cleary 4 comps after leaving. These guys know how to win even with inferior squads they couldn't do anything with us. Multiple ceo's, board members and make up, coaches who achieved nothing here and went on to win comps elsewhere and players. None achieved anything close to success here. The one constant has been the owner(s) and their interference.
