HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Without having a democratically elected board the club will always be in danger of self destruction and little chance of long term success. Even if they come up with a peace plan for their lastest actions, another explosion is just around the corner.

The HBG have to get through their thick skulls, it’s not their club, it’s the fans and members and they have the responsibility to make sure it is run successfully and legally.

Anyway while they have the current debenture system I have very little trust in them

I’m sure your independent board didn’t include including the dismissed chairman that was previously unacceptable to HBG due to his ‘suggested’ lack of communication - complete bozo’s in charge

It would benefit both HBG and the NRL if the former concentrated on what it does best in running Wests Leagues and leaving the running of the WTs to another entity selected by the NRL.

We had 4 good directions, a chairman and one of the bst CEOs already before the HBG politicians blew it up.

We're tarnished yet again.

And it looks like they might be reinstating at least one of those board members… so I assume they are admitting that they were wrong to act that in that manner ? Or do you still want to wait for further information that supports their initial actions? That isn’t coming Im tipping ..

What’s to stop them removing 4 new independents in a months time under similar dubious circumstances?

I have emailed Richo several times over the last couple of years, and he has always replied. I emailed him the other day, specifically stating I did not expect a reply in the middle of all this mess. Would ypu really expect someone fighting for their job, their organisation's longevity, to stop and return, as you have suggested, hundred, if not thousands, of emails from Joe Bloggses like me? 🤔 I was more than happy with the acknowledgement to fans in his presser.

I’m tipping we will know today whether BOF is returning and maybe if Benji has been extended … are they walking those back next week?
 
What type of mgmt throws a grenade into an organisation which has worked hard under its board and CEO to improve on field and off field results. I have no doubt the NRL are mindful of future tv rights and sponsorship and the private sector will be monitoring how this is dealt with and future governance arrangements at WTs. The independent board members offered WTs a pathway to private sector sponsorship. This was a very shortsighted move which clearly was not discussed with the NRL beforehand.

What type? Not a very intelligent one … you can see that they have been used to playing these bully boy tactics amongst themselves within their sheltered group …but they don’t work very well in the wider world we all exist in…and now a week later they look like they are scrambling to try to reverse most of it..unfortunately a lot of damage has already been done..
