HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Except HBG's success rate or history hasn't been what I'm questioning- just what every argument gets turned to.

The argument brushes over one simple FACT- for 12 months HBG DID follow the recommendations.

The narrative on here is that what happened at board level a few weeks ago proves HBG are useless.

My question is, has & will be until we hear an answer- why? Why follow the recommendations at all if only to blow it up later on?

Unlike many however- I'm not as happy just pinning it on HBG being useless. They DID make a claim, which everyone dismisses. The actions of PVL do not back up the group think.

There is more to it. But the loudest voices just keep shouting they 'know' and expect nobody to have an alternative viewpoint, or to simply not accept it.

Clearly Shane was targetted, for Vicious I don't know fairly or Unfairly (I strongly suspect unfairly).

Yet they fired the 4 directors. Barry was the target. If Barry blocked them to Richo then he blocked them to Richo... We can never assume that HBG would imagine the NRL would demand Barry be brought back to the board.

Why?
Jealousy - Denis would be jealous of Barry O.
Attacks on Ctown and keeping the Wests Tigers inner city, (my theory).
Some weird hope to bring the magpies back to the NRL?

Our club is the biggest looser in all this. The only good thing I saw was Luai, Fainu's and co all saying they would stay together.

Agree, HBG dragged their heels when considering BOF for chair, because they were unsure of his level of independence.

If only we could return to those glory years of 2013-2016 when the Reserve Grade team was named “Wests Tigers” and all was right with the world. The club was powering along back then without those dreaded Magpie jerseys clogging up the pathways.

Why follow the recommendations? To avoid a backlash from fans

Why blow it up later? To gain back control. Maybe if we do it before Christmas no one will notice.

That was at a time when the board was heavily stacked with magpies, Balmain defaulted on a loan and the board increased from 7 to 9 members. A lot going on.

We came last 3 years in a row Chad. The fans revolted after years of no success on and off the field.

HBG had no political capital left to argue their case. We were a laughing stock.

The moment the heat died down, they manufactured a "communication" crisis to purge the independent voices.

The review was even dismissed as "opinion, not fact" by Romero and co. Leaked emails show she "had grave concerns" about the review being rushed. She even threatened legal action (Clayton Utz were the firm I believe) against BOF if he dared hold a board meeting without her present or her approval.

Everything was just tolerated until they could regain control. They never wanted independence. You only need to read Fallah and Epifanias Facebook posts to understand the mindset.

But here's where your argument doesn't stack up to the slightest bit of scrutiny. If they had some legitimate reason to be unhappy about the communication or conduct of the independent directors, why not replace them? Why reclaim total power if they were committed to honouring the review findings?

Four weeks ago we were satisfied with a CEO considered one of the best in the game - no prior allegiance to either Wests / Balmain - getting things done with an independent board working together for Wests Tigers.
No one was talking about going back anywhere.

And yet you continue to have a crack at people who are filthy at the situation we are in now while coming to the defence of those who put us here.

- why HBG sacked the directors.
- why Richo wasn't sacked if he is the criminal you say he is.

If you can adequately explain the above, then maybe it might be fair and reasonable to give them another go. Until then, it's completely reasonable for the average Wests Tigers fans to want them gone.

Everyone making circular arguments...the proof of incompetence is there for all to see straight from the statement HBG delivered...so what is it, the board are rubbish so we sacked them? (then re-instated them) Richo is corrupt so we endorsed him? We sacked the board so Richo would resign because he was not corrupt enough for us to sack him, he was doing his job, however we got upset about a few decisions he made so we sacked the board......there is no 4th, 5th, 6th or whatever chance we are now up to as justification to leave these guys in charge. That horse bolted years ago. (BTW the video statement is still live online if you use the link....again...incompetence)

Plenty on here have been talking about "going back" to a Wests Ts NSW Cup team - which was what my answer was addressing.

And yes, I'll have a crack at the unhinged, bigots who seem to think that anything associated with wearing black & white is akin to supporting the Stasi.

Get a grip people - Its Christmas time ... Joy to the World etc etc

Instead of pointing fingers at what Suzie didn't do, why didn't YOU post the official statement? Why didnt YOU do something productive?

I don't know Suzie from a bar of soap.. but you have attacked someone who helps keep this forum running; I assume without any pay... She is entitled to her opinion as much as the next person, moderator or not.

If you don't like what your fellow magpie tragics are doing, then YOU call them out... Be someone who proves to that Wests Tigers fans shouldn't taint you all with the same brush..

You're lack of action and acknowledgement of the problem, is part of the problem.

Why did HBG publicly support Richo if he and his family are criminals?
