Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Apparently that mongrel Dog was asked by the club to put on between 5 - 10kgs during the offseason .. !! Isn't that what started his parents to have a dummy spit with us .. ?? He is now around 95kgs.

Yet we will be expected to believe that it was all natural growth through hard work, and by the same guy who stated that he struggled to put on weight even if he ate all day.

Tigers put him on a diet to add weight last off season and he came back the same size. Once I saw that and the way he joked about it I knew he was not serious about playing for us. I believe he will end up at 13 for the bulldogs before seasons end. They have some gun halves coming through and it never made sense how they blew up the place to recruit him. You will have 2 big bodied halves at 6 and 7 in Burton and Galvin and an inexperienced hooker with a middling FB. Not really a spine to get excited about. Kikau seems to have lost a bit of pace and has also become injury prone and the expectation will be on critta to carry them, you can tell he was exhausted towards the back end of the season and that probably contributed to his injury.
Very interesting to see what influence Galvin has on the dogs this year, as you touched on with his size increase it looks like the lock move is closer than what we all expected.

I'm leaning to more disruption if the transition to lock takes place, he's no wonder boy it can't be done with a snap of the fingers.

The real issue is whether he can keep is speed and agility.
Most at this height struggleto do so
..Curtis Sironen an excellent example

I think.he'll have a good career too...but i hope he fails in everything

Id say he was promoted too early...as a way to try and.keep him... but they.were determined.to get out for whatever reason

I think it goes back to the signing of Latu.
I would think he’s been tailing up Latu from school days in one way or another and had no interest in doing it again here.

Funnily enough haven't seen any posts from the magpie boys lately, wonder if somethings going down in funky HBG town.
Have I been asleep at the wheel? Don't tell me there is still old Balmain v Pies nonsense still hanging around

I have just woken up out of a Poppy Nap, and was hoping someone could confirm we are now in 2026? Some names mentioned in posts above I thought had been erased from the pages of the Wests Tigers Book of "Bad Memories"?

No chance Galvin moves to 13 in 2026 RHS.
Gould and Ciraldo are both ego maniacs and will not swallow their pride and move Galvin from the halves, no matter how bad the results are.

I Hope he and his mongrel manager gives us something soon otherwise this bullshit will carry on into the season and be very disruptive for us .I hope this gets resolved soon .
It shouldn’t disrupt us at all as if he remains unsigned for 2027 and beyond, it will be up to Bula to play his best and prove he is worth the contract value he is looking for.
Imagine we locked him in for another 4 or 5 years on 1 million per season or more and he does not show any improvement throughout the 2026 season, it would then become a bad contract.
I’d prefer to waiti and see what he brings for at least 10-12 rounds into the 2026 season and then work out what our top offer will be.
If he shows good improvement and we are winning plenty of games that should then be more incentive for him to re-sign with us being a team on the upwards trajectory.

Mate a lot of posts were deleted because things were getting heated, the posts weren't footy related, some guys were cranky about it and rightly so.

We need a thread to discuss the elephant in the room so it doesn't spill into this one.

Good, a dog's team and fan meltdown would fill us with chuckles and euphoria, too big for the halves and inexperienced at lock would cause a lot of headaches, outstanding result.

Of course it will???
Media love to speculate about our contracts. Chammas even said it’ll be the most fascinating story of 2026. It will be the biggest distraction for our playing group and it’s ridiculous it hasn’t been sorted already and plays into Moses’ hands yet again. Have we not learnt from the Galvin saga.

If Mielekamp wants to win the base over he needs to get it done.

Too much sideways from Luai.

We looked better when one of the halves straightened things up.
The Luai sideways stuff can work and does disrupt the defense...however he needs to do it sparingly and he needs players running a line and providing options...its no good when he runs sideways and dummies to players standing flat footed. The shape looked better at the back half of the season so hopefully they have figured things out. Other issue is he tends to revert to that sideways running when the attack breaks down and he is trying to create options...happened way too often last season.

If we are winning more games than we lose we will become a media good news story.
I initially thought that Mielekamp would pay overs to re-sign Bula just to appease the fans, but it has been suggested to me that Benji does not want to pay overs for any player and I’m assuming that includes Bula.
If Bula starts the season on fire helping us to winning the majority of our games, then yes his price will rise, but as I keep saying it’s in our best interests to know for certain how much of an improved player he is in 2026 before committing to a big money long term contract.

If Bula doesn't sign so what ? If the club thinks he's not worth the money he is asking then they don't sign him.

It's not up to Mielekamp to win the base over - he's paid to do his job not win beauty contests.

Losing another young player we’ve developed means nothing ? Galvin saga was a huge distraction so our team will go through it again with the Bula contract ?
If we are serious about being a finals football team we need a solidified fullback where will we find another one if Bula goes.

His price will rise and interest from other clubs. 2025 all over again.
