Hopefully after he has "ticked" off the things he wants to do in league (preferably with us)Tbh we as a fanbase need to accept that he will be going back to Rugby at some point.

No, its not. Its an acknowledgement that he might want to keep some options open regarding where he wants to play but also contract length and amount. I think most would do the same. You're not usually this reactionary GNRThat’s an indirect acknowledgement that he won’t be staying.
How many 18 years who have played one game, turn down million dollar contract extensions if they aren’t looking to leave. Call me crazy, but I feel like we went through this same situation not even a year ago.No, it’s not. He hasn’t declined it yet. Mole reported that. If anyone else does it’s believableHow many 18 years who have played one game, turn down million dollar contract extensions if they aren’t looking to leave. Call me crazy, but I feel like we went through this same situation not even a year ago.
Well, if he does decline it, it’s not looking good.He hasn’t declined it yet. Mole reported that. If anyone else does it’s believable

Doubt if wef offered him a $mill...yetHow many 18 years who have played one game, turn down million dollar contract extensions if they aren’t looking to leave. Call me crazy, but I feel like we went through this same situation not even a year ago.
Ok so what would you be willing to offer him for the next 5 years? How many 18 years who have played one game, turn down million dollar contract extensions if they aren’t looking to leave. Call me crazy, but I feel like we went through this same situation not even a year ago.
That being the case, we've been flogging a dead horse for some time now. Moses BS stringing us along?More and more with time, I think Bula is going:

Dragons look to move on Bula as Gutherson's predecessor
The Tigers will sit down with Bula within the next month to discuss his future.www.zerotackle.com
His manager and family have a great relationship with the club . The young players we need to be concerned about are obviously Bula and Phoenix Godinet .Well, if he does decline it, it’s not looking good.
BS.That’s an indirect acknowledgement that he won’t be staying.
If he turns down a near million dollar a season offer at 18, he has grander plans. Would have thought some of you would have learned how to read the signs after last year. Apparently not.BS.
It's acknowledgement he is not an idiot. No need to look into crystal ball.
Plenty of time to see how he develops for a more accurate assessment of his worth.
Instead of guessing and speculation what his future may be.
Any player at his age and potential would do the same.
Are you just making up things? Judging from the article that was written in the DT it doesn't even seem like a contract extension has been offered let alone one close to a million dollarsIf he turns down a near million dollar a season offer at 18, he has grander plans. Would have thought some of you would have learned how to read the signs after year. Apparently not.
When have any of these long, drawn out contract negotiations ever resulted in a player re-signing? It doesn’t happen. Makasini will be next. He’s already declined a contract extension. The only players willing to play their career entire here are guys like Twal.
So we can believe that one can we?Are you just making up things? Judging from the article that was written in the DT it doesn't even seem like a contract extension has been offered let alone one close to a million dollars

You think I’m sticking the boot into the club?If he turns it down so be it .. what would you suggest they do otherwise ?

Post more often.I keep my posts generally rare in this forum but I did want to say that I don't like the way a lot of people in this forum approach contract negotiations like this.
The insulting of Bula, the suggestion we should let him go straight away, the insinuation that we have juniors who can replace him or (the worst) the suggestion that we put in our best rookie in a generation (who is a centre) into fullback. Lets be clear:
I understand that people are upset that this is happening again. I am as well. But we need to do what it takes to sign Bula and if we cannot do that jump on the option so we have 2 years to find his replacement. This Tigers team is a top 8 side, who knows maybe a good year will be enough to convince him to say but more importantly it will give Benji some breathing room and time to sign someone who will be our long-term fullback.
- Losing Bula would be a disaster - he has been our best fullback prospect (by far) since Tedesco and has heaps of growth in him - just look at the games last year with and without him. Anyone who follows footy can see we are easily a better side with his threat
- We will not be able to find a suitable replacement for him in the near future. I have watched enough junior games to know Logan Brookes is not the answer, nor is Attard (the Panthers rarely let the good ones go - Katoa excepted). On the free market pickings are even slimmer and suggestions like Purdue (a centre who wants to play 5/8th) beggar belief
- We NEED to pay overs for players. There is so much stink around us as a club due to those idiots at HBG that any good player manager knows they can get more out of us. Without saying too much I work in the legal field and am around many of the player managers and the fact is players don't want to pay for an unstable team unless its for money. Although - I will say the feedback on Benji (sans Isaac Moses) is very positive, the players adore him. The important thing is that people understand what a big contract is for a player of Bula's quality. 1 million now is not 1 million 5 years ago. With the rate of projected growth in the salary cap it will not be long before we have our first 2 million dollar player. For the player I think Bula will be we should pay whatever he asks for.
Apologies for the rambles.
