Not hard enough....he went soft when they cried that he was to hard and tough....

its a tough hard game...you either get in or get out....

now we see the results of being soft on this generation of wanna bees.....who want everything but dont want to do the hard yards to earn it ....

Two things that stood out to me was Robbie Farah at the start saying”Madge needs to release the shackles a bit”. Interesting coming from this bloke, and the coaching position he has with the side atm. And against the Titans when cini dropped the ball and Simpkin dived to save a try Madge said”..........in young blokes”. I’m not a Madge fan , I think he is an old school screamer and his desperation wears thin, it’s obvious his all encompassing motivational rev ups have worn thin, and you can tell the players are thinking “not this crap again”, but I’ll give him credit, he put be on show BJ and he ripped into douihie against the titans for going missing, so on face value he seems consistent, although he should be really personally challenging a few other senior players also. What I laughed at was his inability to comprehend how the titans shifted from the kick off and scored. It’s called playing what you see Madge, very good smart football, identifying a weekness and exploiting it on the run. Laughed for about 5 minutes at his reaction.

Most, if not all of the other clubs are probably having a laugh - and the ones that have lost to us this year are probably kicking themselves.

This doco is a bad look, imo.

I dont think its a bad look for Madge. If anything it
just shows how he realy is towards the players and
hopefully puts to bed the crap they were saying about
him earlier in the season.
Who it doesnt benefit is the players and the club. It shows us what theyre really like in those sheds when he's talking to them.

Well if there been playing since under 6’s and it’s been their drive to play first grade, they would of had to deal with a fair bit more adversity then a tv show picking up a couple of errors.

But I’d say that’s not what he meant.

After watching Madge give the team a spray after the Titans loss I went back and watched the presser after that Madge as I was curious what he said and I’ll give Madge one thing, he’s authentic. Pretty much said the same things to the press as he did to the playing group (without all the expletives). I feel really sorry for Madge as you can see the passion and desire for success he wants for the club and especially the playing group but it’s one sided on the face of it.

Pretty much said the same things to the press as he did to the playing group (without all the expletives). I was curious actually, because the first thing he said I will publicly back you all day long.
My thoughts is he might of sugar coated it to the press

What about all the mistakes from the rest of the team cobber , Luke Brooks threw a forward pass in that same game why didn’t we see that one
Tommy talau makes mistakes nearly every game but they had to show the rookies

I actually saw a man was more gobsmacked at his teams total lack of desire to defend it.

1. This is a Maguire sob story. Feels like there’s bugger all to do with the actual team and what we practice.
2. Why does no one ever bloody talk in the sheds?! Seriously I don’t know if it’s not shown but Maguire is just doing his constant swearing tough guy routine and no one talks amongst themselves.

If you understand the game and you watch the doco....it shows how much,youth and limited depth Madge has to work with,,,,hence the season we have had...if Tommy T is the best to put in the centres,what does it say for the rest...

They should be used to the highs and lows of footy .. champ
They are soft .. they need to be told the hard truths not pampered fed bullshit

I found that episode really hard to watch. My observations:
- Madge is really intense - don't blame him based on how the players have responded, but he does appear highly strung - as alluded to by Mbye.
- Madge is busting his gut to try to improve this club.
- The players seemed both relieved and over the moon when they beat St George, which gave me the feeling they want to do well.
- There is something really amiss in the dressing room - no one besides Madge was talking - why? because they don't care? I don't think this is the case, based on the few times I have seen them celebrate when they do win - because they don't believe in themselves? - possibly, because they can't relate to/believe in the coach(es) ideas? - possibly
That second episode probably posed more questions than answers. What I do really think after watching this episode is they desperately need Sheens' calm and experienced leadership.

Maybe a psychiatrist or a sports psychologist/magician, but not sure if a physiologist could help out too much, but who knows really with this mob? ?

If you understand the game of NRL and how competative it is,then you can see our youth and depth arent up to NRL standard yet....understand that...

He certainly didn’t unleash on the players but he made it clear that the players had to turn up week in and week out.
If you look at most pressers he always supports the playing group, he’ll, many of us joke about it on here and his belief in this team.
