Tamou was the biggest mistake made by Tigers. Average player at best, not a leader ( at Penrith he was surrounded by 4 co captains) as he is a mute. Made captain without having played for the Tigers. Plays average of 20 mins per game.Picking up his super pension.
Captainacy is so important, especially with a young roster in a team, as they are the on field voice of the coach and tactics.
Madge , I assume made decision to appoint Tamou captain and has to live with that decision and resulting failures of on field results.
I would have had LL captain this season. He is vocal, plays 80 minutes and always leads by example. AD no doubt is a future captain of the Tigers.

Mbye followed by Tamou shows some very poor judgment

It’s like when you go to the bakery and they’re all out of pies, so you get a salad roll.

In hindsight very bad choices, especially Mbye

Jury is out for me on Tamou, the form of Stef and to a lesser extent Mikaele has been good. Wonder if Tamou is at all responsible?

Mbye was a panic purchase and if he was only on half his freight he wouldn’t have been shopped early in his tenure. I believe he’s just a disgruntled employee ticking the boxes.

I understand that this is all from an edited documentary but:
The playing group sits there like losing is a foregone conclusion and they are just waiting to get through the game, get yelled at, and get out of there. Just meek and soft. Very few seem to give a damn.
Madge is trying to get them up for a game but 1 bloke trying to fire up an entire team is going to be very hard. They desperately need a few hard players to buy in, lead from within the team, and for the staff to act like they care.
When people ask what is a Wests Tiger player- it is Luke Brooks. Very talented but very meek with no self-belief. I am hoping that Madge can be the hard coach and Sheens can be Uncle Tim when they need a cuddle.

This is exactly how I feel about the club. After Madge does a big rev up the air just goes out of the room, that’s where a Finucane just has to say something basic like “are we up for this boys” we just lack that killer in the group!

Or he changes the method of delivery. Seriously, how many games have we come out aggressive after a half time rev up like that..also have many games have we started aggressively ..my count is zero

In my experience the motivation comes from the group more-so than words the coach has to say. I honestly don’t think that many players really listen to the sprays or the alternative. You play for a coach you like but playing for the guy next to you is massive.

I like how our middles look and maybe that’s why Tamou’s minutes are limited lately.

IMO this is why Penrith are having recent success. Yes Cleary walked into a club full of talent but he’s got them playing for each other. Pack mentality and it shows in their “arrogance”. It’s why we had early success too with him…it’s almost as if him walking away broke whatever spirit we had left and why it’s so hard for us to pick up the pieces.

Agree. Panthers are a tight unit.Look at packers output since Cleary left. Another disgruntled employee

Agree . And that’s why pathways is our only way our of this mess..build a team that has played together through juniors and the jersey and mateship will mean something ..we had it ..and then we lost it ..Tedesco, brooks, Moses, woods, brown, tatolo, paseka, stone etc etc we had before, Benji Robbie, Heino, Gibbs, Fulton etc etc . Who built that? The CEO’s Mayer, Pascoe , the Board, the Chairman?

The screaming certainly wouldn't be for everyone think he needs to calm down on his delivery.

One passionate bloke that's for sure.

But who was the coach who did break a 43 year drought.
M Maguire. The Souths mascot hasn’t forgotten.

He has a lifetime pass from my brother-in-law for the same reason: he will never have a bad word to say about Madge.

They are playing for each other but were doing it for years before Ivan returned. The team's been together several seasons and that's why they're tight. It's (apparently) the reason Chin didn't want to come to us.

Ivan has stumbled onto a golden egg.

Good point. He certainly has! And I’ll never forgive him either for what he did to us. The kiss blowing showed his true colors…Hard to stop now I’ve started ?

The thing I’m getting from this docu more then anything is the support staff around madge is not up to scratch. The two main characters there are Ronnie Palmer and snoopy. We have such a young team , there would be a massive disconnect there. I love ronnie Palmer but gee can you imagine him talking tactics or motivation to get the players up on the field. We need some massive changes there.

The good, the bad and the ugly.
Parts 1 $ 2 done and dusted.
2 parts still to go.
Wonder what surprises Fox have in store, not lost on the editing floor.
Like, it has to have something as an upside for the club.

Maguire appears to be doing too much on game day and I'm shocked at how little anyone speaks to him in the sheds or coaches box.
