10 games at Cambo & LO in 24

Alot of our future junior talent will come from the Campbeltown/ Macarthur region going forward. Similar socio economic region to penrith. As the team improves hopefully Campbeltown may turn into a pain in the arse venue that other teams don't like playing at. Being an old tiger there's nothing like a Sunday arvo at leichhardt. I think the 10 game split is just what we need as a club at the moment. Hopefully we can have both stadiums bursting at the seams for the next 5-10 years , combined with a sport nut vote chasing politician to approve a couple of stadium upgrades

If someone makes a decision to only play at Campbelltown or Leichhardt we would lose half our fan base almost instantly.
It’s a unique club being a merger of two former great clubs and one of them was already more or less merged between the inner west and the south west.
Somewhere like Liverpool would be the only location that a true home ground could potentially be built they may appease the majority of Wests Tigers supporters, but even then I think we’d lose a fair chunk of the inner west support.
There is no easy answer, but why not continue lobbying for major upgrades at both Campbelltown and Leichhardt.
Both are multi purpose sporting venues that would benefit different codes and be of great benefit to the State if they were to receive the major upgrades they deserve.
Everything becomes an issue when the on field results are poor, but are quickly overlooked when the on field results are good.
Would they lose you?
I doubt it
They wouldn't lose me... That's 2/2.
The games grown, it's not a tribal suburban localised thing anymore

NOW is the perfect time to make this move no one's had the balls to make for a quarter of a century... On the back of the internal review.

If they're only here for 3 x LO or 4XCSS per year or whatever it is.. Then meh

The bit about losing half the supporter base if we stop playing at LO or CSS.
If that's true then how do we claim to be one club?

You would not lose half of our supporters but you would certainly piss off a reasonable percentage of them although most of those would still support the club.Father Time will rectify the issue eventually when all the old Balmain and Magpies hangers on die, most of us supporters accept the JV but just want it to improve dramaticaly.
A winning club will help

You are right that they wouldn’t lose me either way.
You would hope the vast majority of fans would support the club no matter what, I just fear that might not be the case,

Has that mattered over the last decade?

Mostly all Magpie and Balmain people of older stature support the joint venture. I do. There would be 10% max that wouldn't. They're not worth worrying about. You are 100% right about a winning club. We start winning everything else falls into place.

You are right.I come from the Balmain side of the club and have followed them since the mid 60's and i know most of the old Balmain/ Magpie supporters of my vintage who passionately support the JV.I only know of 2 people who no longer follow our club one was a Balmain supporter who would not accept it and hopes we get flogged each week the other is a Magpie supporter who did not even support the club when they moved to Campbelltown,he is very bitter unfortunately and will never change even though he is a very likeable reasonable person in every other way.
As an old bloke i hope that we get our shit sorted out asap and start winning games

What do we want. 1 identity and 1 home ground.
What have we got 2 *apparently.

But what have we really got?
We’ve got 5 games at our historic suburban grounds that are positioned within the catchment area of our juniors and our fans.

Tribalism is rife still within the league, you say it doesn’t exist then take yourself out to Manly and Cronulla. These two clubs have upgraded their grounds and they are modern and fabulous. But maybe an even better example is the SGID since they moved out of ANZ in 2017. Although they haven’t had the best of seasons for a while mostly based on their inept roster the team itself is still very difficult to beat at their local grounds.
This is what we need. For the club and supporters alike to identify with this, embace this and support this decision.

The best way to achieve 1 home ground in the short term is for all our fans and supporters to turn up to both grounds so that the atmosphere is consistent across both grounds where opposition teams know that coming to our home ground your going to expect a tough outing.

#the above is subjective to the team delivering on its play style and potential.

Secondly, it’s hard to advocate the above when we are also in a process of trying to make a statement of unity against the management of the organisation by not renewing / signing up as a new member or attending games. So understandably a lot of the above is conditional to where we are placed start of 2024.

Jeez. It's only football.
If you are going to argue your point, be truthful.
Wests and Balmain have gotten to the stage where they are approaching enemy status of the Wests Tigers in terms of us gaining success on the field.
They hamstring us at board level, they force us to use their players and home grounds….poor year after poor year can be attributed in no small measures to these two clubs and their horrible legacy of losing.
