10th anniversary WTs maiden finals series

I've been to pretty much every GF since they moved to homebush. The 2005 GF was probably the most partisan of them all in terms of crowd support.
Loads of neutrals as per usual, but more Tigers fans there than any other team has had IMO.

And how good is this??

Brilliant!

This video got me choked up, the interviews with the players after the game is special.

Had we been able to keep Scott Prince for the rest of his Career? I have no doubt we would of won at least 2 more Premierships, A special player also Brett Hodgson.

There were two moments of sheer joy and noise i will never forget!! When Pattacake fended off Jensen and we knew he was gonna score the roar was immense!

And when Josh Hannay missed the goal and the screams that were nearly a moan ripped out!! We knew we had won it!

AMAZING!

Yeah spot on.
When Hannay missed the kick i knew we had it and the emotions came out right there.
Started drinking from 11:00am with my mates till presentation and a few more till the sun came up. Got hugs from people I never met :roll.
Hard to find the words.

We managed to get from the ground after the lap of honour to the P3 carpark, high fiving and hugging people in bus stops who we had never met before. Drove down to Balmain Leagues where there was traffic chaos and unbelievable scenes as the crowd spilled out on the footpath and across Victoria Road. Headed down to West Leagues at Ashfield and got there just before the players bus arrived. I really felt for the local who lived around there because the noise outside there before the players arrived was incredible. This was nearly 11pm on Sunday night. When the bus turned up it sounded like being at the game again. Was impossible to get into any of the leagues clubs so home to watch the replay of the game and have a few beers. A few hours sleep then back to Leicchardt for the players arrival there early the following afternoon.

Just an amazing night to top off a great month. A time, like everyone on here, that I will never forget.

Great day. Watched the Swans win the GF in the afternoon and then headed into the SFS. Was in a corporate box overlooking the north east corner post. You see it on the video, but despite countless beers that day, I still remember looking down at the calm fist pump from Hodgo when he took the ball over touch in goal.

Making the GF seemed better than actually winning it. I could have a different feeling if we beat Parra in the GF, but it is what it is.

I remember walking in, you could feel the atmosphere even then. You could hear that even though they had us outnumbered, we had them out voiced. Amazing night.

What a special bunch.

Elford and Whatuira were the most unbelievable underrated Centre Partnership we have had.

I recall that year in "05" we played the Bulldogs at homebush and spanked them 56-6 or something like that and Whatuira played one of the most unbelievable Centres game i have witnessed…..I was there and it was special.
I recall on the way out a couple of Wests Tigers fans were having a bit of Banter to a couple of Bulldogs fans and the Bulldogs fans said " that's ok we are going home to watch last year's Grand final win ".
Eye of the tiger was played out loud getting out of the homebush car park.

Good on you Buckets for ruining what would've been a top photo - what the hell was he thinking! Elford actually looks younger than he did 10 years ago, is that even possible? 😱pen_mouth:

After the grand final we ended up at city extra in parramatta for a meal & a drink .
I put "eye of the tiger" on the jukebox 10 times in a row & the manager got upset with me , lol .
