10th anniversary WTs maiden finals series

Wow tears flowing here.

HIghlights for me.

The noise when Benji scored!

Princey and Hammer.

Barrett so frustrated.

The amount of times Saints looked likely only to be cut down but reeediculous defefense!

The noise when in the 77th minute we were into the GF!

And the boys after the game,Skandy punching the sky and hugs all around!!

JUST MAGNIFICENT!!

One memory I have of the game was the clock at the SFS didn't work properly during the game. We had to rely on the ground announcer telling us how long there was to go. That was okay in the first half and 10 points up at halftime was awesome. But it was very tough in the second half trying to guess how long there was left. With about 5 to go, emotions got the best of me and most sitting around us when we realised there wasn't enough time for the Dragons to score twice. Don't know how long it took to get out of the Moore Park Car Park but it didn't matter.

Another favourite memory was the bloke in the Eels jumper at the service station on Parramatta Road yelling across to us 'You wont win next week'. The following day Cowboys 29 Eels 0.

Just an amazing day. Had a friend's birthday BBQ in Annandale before hand, at which some of the world's finest backyard cricket was played.
About 10 of us from there went to the game in a few cabs, spirits amazingly high from those in black/white/orange outside the ground. I think we must have been more drunk than the Dragons fans by a factor of 2:1.

There were dozens of people jumping on seats after that initial knock on. Not the try - just the knock on. Literally people rolling in the aisles and rows when we scored from the scrum.

Post game, we were walking around Paddington working out what to do (too much of a natural high to think straight). Ended up being ushered into the Three Weeds by the bouncer who happened to be a Tigers fan, and getting a free round on the house due to our attire.
Can't remember the timing, but went to Balmain Leagues at some stage which was loose AF.

Man this game makes me teary!

The crowd is AMAZING!

SOOOOO into the game and so loud its unbeleeeeevable!!!

Far out just my luck, been hanging for the longest time to record this game and I'm not home :rant.

This game is my favourite game i attended on so many levels.
I worked with a work colleague who was a Fanatatical Dragons supporter and ended up being one of my best mates, he gave it to me all week leading up to this game and challenged me to a $50.00 bet which by the end of that week i excepted it cause he was over confident.

I have never been as nervous going to a Wests Tigers game than this one, my whole crew went my Wife, Mum, Dad, Aunty, Uncle, Cousins, 15 of us.
Hours before we were at my place watching the Swans win it and the anticipation was building, I had mixed emotions from feeling sick to getting emotional over this game.
We had magical seats, on the corner up high with TV's, where Benji scored, the atmosphere? Never encountered a game like it, before kick off the Dragons supporters were all high and mighty, they were making plenty of noise, once the game started and we took control the Wests Tigers supporters were unbelievably loud and even though we were out numbered, we made more noise.

To share this game with the people that matter most was very emotional, at full-time I nearly bloody fell from the Tier for banging on the Sponsorship sign lol.
I was in heaven I knew then we were winning the Grand Final, the only thing I ever wanted was to experience a Grand Final win but i got a taste of it and I'm hooked…I want more.

The Broncos game the week before was also a brilliant atmosphere.

FT you can get this game on Weststigers essentials, 5 game dvd on ebay for under $12 delivered, do yourself a favour.

Thanks for that mate , I will check it out.

The GF was devoid of atmosphere so much to the point it almost ruined the occasion. I guess with the majority of the crowd made of corporate's and non supporters that's what happens.

I'll always put the pre-lim above the gf for that reason. The pre-lim final was nuts.

Watched it last night - first time I've watched it all for a long time.
We probably all remember the hype over the crowd and ticket situation, but I don't think I appreciated just how big that game was. We haven't really had a prelim final with as much exposure since (bar maybe the Eels/Dogs game in 2009). The atmosphere was just phenomenal - so much nervous excitement and expectation from both sets of fans.
The last 5-10 mins were ridiculously emotional, even 10 years on. Hodgo pumping his fist to the crowd when running the ball out for a dropout felt like it was yesterday.

Probably because we were certs in the GF

We were far from that in preliminary final and it was almost like a dream

I will never forgive my boss for missing going to that game and have reminded him many times since

Ten years on and karma might be about to strike for him , he is a massive Cowboys fan and if they make the GF he will probably have to miss out as we will be fitting out my new store

The GF void of atmosphere???

It was brilliant!

A sea of Orange!! Screaming all game!

It sucked. It was a nothing atmosphere. The pre lim final will always be the pinnacle of that yr for me.

I really enjoyed 100k people singing "eye of the tiger" as Princey held up the Cup!!

If that didnt get ya pumped nothing will!

For a start the stadium only seats 80k so you're embellishing there. Second, the GF isn't a regular game in the fact that it's made up of just supporters from both teams, half the crowd are made of non fans who bought tickets earlier in the yr and for whatever reason didn't sell them. We had a supporter section and the rest were scattered. Walking out of the ground my mates and I were going nuts and people we're looking at us like we were nuts. Not the type of atmosphere you feel walking out of any other big game. Jmo.

A sea of happy singing orange people.

Looks like fun to me!

I'm not challenging your recollection of events, just stating mine. And no amount of videos will change my memories of that night. The pre lim was the night I'll always remember.

This is a silly thing to argue. Ghost, if you look back on that night and remember it being as brilliant as you said, that's all that matters.
