15 years, 3 finals appearances

That makes us the worst club in the league. Find me another club with 3 or less finals appearances in the past 15 seasons. Yes we have won a premiership, and had a couple of Top 4 seasons. Outside of that it has been failure after failure after failure. Even those 3 seasons we made the TOp 8 we were outside it for huge portions of the season!! It was a more a month or two of momentum, rahter then a consistently excellent campaign.

So what are the common denominators? You could say bad players and coaches. However every club has bad players and coaches the fans don't rate. To me the common denominators are things that have been consistent over the 15 years.

* Infighting/Board Politics - Clearly the biggest issue. We all know this it has been done to death. It's quite sad that 15 years after the merger we still have these politics and resentment and jealousy. You wonder if it will ever work. Whilst all these leaks, alliances and so one continue seasons will always blow up in our face.

* Concord Oval/Football Budget - We are training at a joint most Park Footy teams would train at. A run down place that has not had any work in 15 years, with old facilities. Clubs like Bulldogs pump huge money into things like altitude chambers and the latest technologies. We are miles behind. Maybe we just have to accpet we cant compete here i dont know.

* Injuries/Injury management - Linked to The previous common denominator. However most of those 12 years we missed the finals the injury toll has been way above average. You can't help the broken bones and the dislocations. However the time it takes players to get back on the paddock and the soft tissue injuries. They are areas the club should be looking at in their world famous REVIEW

* Strong Leadership (CEO) - Well maybe we have had some good CEO's. Noyce was here a long time and worked well with Sheens. However Bullock, Humpty and Mayer, seem like they just they make too many bad decisions. Maybe any great CEO would struggle at the circus that is WT's dealing with the politics. However at a time where the club is a LAUGHING STOCK where is Grant Mayer?? The guy shold have been on the front foot and working to make sure this circus has not deteriorated to the extent it has. However mr.everywhere has turned into mr.in-hiding.

* Home Grounds - I don't know if this is a huge issue. Might only cause more politics. However playing at 3 home grounds have been one of the common denominators of the 3 finals appearances in 15 seasons. Our win ratios at Leichhrdt and Ctown are pretty acceptable so maybe this is not so much a issue.

* Can't attract marquee players - Were crying out for a captain that can inspire. Well its hard when we can't attract any top liners to the club. Most top players probably laugh at us and would never consider us an option even for top dollar. Hence we have a lot of young blokes and a frustrated Farah, left carrying the can of most peoples rants.

I don't know how quicj we can fix any of these issues but hopefully the review covered some of the common denominators. We all talk about this golden era we are on the verge of. I just don't see it the way things are at the Tigers. Yes we have great young talent, however we will not get the most out of them in the current environment. We are probably looking at more appearance outside the Top 8 at this stage the way things are.

I don't care really if Potter survives or not. He has handled himself really well and I would be haappy for him to stay on. However if they go for someone new then i really don't care (as long as it is not a current assistant) . Its the common denominators that i think require more attention then players/ coaches.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, outside of 05, we are a complete and utter faiilure as a club. 3 finals appearances in 15 yrs, 2 boards who hate each other, 2 sets of supporters who hate each other, 3 home grounds, no money, no way of attracting marquee players, players running the club. Since 05 all we've heard is how good we're going to be. Its always ''another 2 yrs and we'll be a gun side''. Well we never are. Can anyone name just one thing we have that would make other clubs envious?

3 out of 15 seasons in the top 4 is ok, seeing as theoretically with 16 even teams, you should be making the top 4 every 4 years.
But 3 out of 15 seasons in the top 8 is dreadful.
The way our seasons consistently turn from bad to worse shows the club doesn't have the culture to win against adversity

You tell me is there anyone more consistent. Let's not forget the bunnies were more consistent until Crowe came along. Nearly every top grade team around the world carrying the Tiger as a mascot suffers like we do.

Must be something about the name. The Richmond Tigers have made the finals twice since 1980.

Well we have actually won a premiership within the last 10 years - I'm sure clubs like Cronulla, Canberra, Titans and Warriors would kill for that

Maybe we should change to being the Magpies then…....oops did I really just say that???

Am I the only one who got that feeling that we were going to win on Saturday, to be honest just hours before the game, I had this feeling that the boys would put in a deep, hearty performance. After all, they were playing for their season, coach and captain. And to do that…...........

However, I am not blaming the players. As shit as we were, how the [This word has been automatically removed] do you expect to play footy when you have a bullshit media circus going on!!! This whole 'Axing Potter' bs have ruined our season, and now that I mention it weren't we in the 8 just a week before this crap started. And now look at us. These board members need to pull their heads in or we could lose youngsters like Simona, Gavet, Taupau.

Another interesting story, i was on the Melbourne Storm forum the other day, and I commented on how I thought the Tigers could win. And after the game, one of the idiot blokes wrote 'hahahahah THANKS FOR KORIEBETE LOSER' Needless to day, it was bloody frustrating.

Spot on as usual Eddie.

You forgot another reason though - our fans. A large portion of them are happy to accept mediocrity, we somehow won the comp almost 10 years ago so it doesn't matter if we are losers now.

More importantly for me is 0 minor premierships in that time. That, in my opinion, is the true representation of who was the best team that season, not who peaked at the right time. How many weeks in 15 years have we been on top of the ladder?

I agree with Ink; other clubs would love our juniors. And other clubs' marketing departments would drool over the market we have too.

Overall, the results over 15 years show this club is a failure.

We don't seem to put too much emphasis on that aspect, otherwise Ctown would play a much more prominent role, and people would stop making excuses as to why a stadium should be redeveloped there.

Three things for mine:

- Engaging the south-west and owning it;
- Ownership of the club, (I still maintain that a members owned club is would be the only way this club would turn a profit😉
- Leadership of the club.
