Tate should have been penalised…I agree with that but have no problem whatsoever with the Hodges try. There was numerous blues defenders still in play who were all to concerned with whinging to make the tackle. Number one rule....play the whistle. Hodges should have been easily stopped. No one had a real go at him...too bad so sad.

Yep, NSW have no to blame but themselves for the Hodges try, or at least lay a fair part of the blame at Beau Scott who was shown up to be the hack that he is. Tim Grant lying all over Nate Myles 10 out in front the posts in the second half wasn't too smart either given the final score either.

I don't know how you can say the Hodges try wasn't a try. Can't remember who the decoy was (Hannet maybe?) but he made zero contact with any defender. He ran a clean line imo

he committed B Scott, by running behind his own player. He gained significant advantage by running behind his own player, that is a classic shepard, there were a few let go earlier in the year that were very similar, at the time I complained about them as well.

it can also be said that players like carney who rushed up in defense because he cannot predict that hodges won't pass because you're not supposed to run behind your own player…

to me a player running into the defenders line and contacting a defender who is in proximity to to the ball carrier is a penalty every time. if this was a try to the blues the video ref would have been dragged out of the booth and burned alive. i understand that the the video ref also picked the ' man of the series '. qld are all class though.. check out dave taylor's effort at the end of the game

I watched the reply of the hodges try a few times and understand why it was allowed… The fact Justin was past Hannant before Hannant entered the NSW defensive line is the reasoning I'm presuming it was allowed. If Ben had of entered the NSW defensive line before Justin ran behind him, its obstruction.

Nobody saw the ball grounded in the first try, but it was awarded a straight up TRY???

NSW were also all over Qld plenty of times in the play the ball... Hayne should of been sent to the sin bin for his efforts in not allowing Inglis to play the ball on the try line???

I'm sure for every referee complaint the NSW Fans have, the Qld Fans also have another... The fact the referees come out trying to manage 'each' team differently based on there instructions is where the administration has got it wrong... The referee's should have a non-bias manner and should simply manage the game to the rules!

Watto they showed the ball touching the ground on that first try, the reverse angle from under his left arm showed it

I have watched it 20 times - and it's a shepherd every time.
It's a shame Queenslanders can never truly hold their heads high while they can't seem to win without a controversial call or two ALWAYS going their way.

CK You are dreaming

Hodges had already paased the ballrunner and he was standing at least 3 metres in front of Hodges

If the NSW defender was still stupid enough to think he was going to get the ball and wasn't already sliding he is 1 of 3 things

1 Lazy
2 Stupid
3 A NSW player (which means he is a combination of the first 2 )

1 rule I miss is being able to play for the ball in the play the ball

It was another way for the defensive team to get the ball back and took predictability out of the game

That was one of Benny's favourite plays
