2010 Jersey Design Vote

Guys,

Is this an Official thing or a moment of creativity by one of our own???

I would like to think there could be a little more that can be done with the Tiger motiff as per some of the Awesome sopporter merchandise on the market.

Does anyone else find it a bit annoying that our jersey design changes every year? Why do we have to do this? Can't we keep the same design for a few years at least?

Why, you ask....

$$$$$ Merchandising Dollars is the answer . All the Major clubs / Codes across the globe do it.

The designs in this thread are mine, the idea of the vote was from people saying that I should submit my ideas to the club (I was unsure if I should or not). I ended up deciding on letting people on the forum choose what one they prefered so that the winning choice would be sent to the tigers as a "fans" choice.

But I have a feeling that what we wore this year will be our shirts next year as well, as the nrl has a rule that clubs must wear their home jerseys for 3 years and alternate ones for 2\. As both of ours are technically "home" jerseys we are probably under the 3 year rule (so next year will be the 3rd year).

It is also way to late to submit the designs now as it takes several months for the manufacturers to create new jerseys for commercial sale (english soccer submit their new designs almost 6 months before they go on sale).

So perhaps these will be submitted as possible 2011 jerseys.

IMO the best version of the Balmain jersey they've ever worn was the one from '05 when we flogged the Dogs 54-2\. Those jerseys actually had collars and the players looked very smart and professional in them. I'd be really happy if they went back to that one.

I vote this jersey.

A mate of mine who works in sporting retail has seen the 2010 apparel by X-Blades. Wests will be keeping the same design for the 'Main' (Black) and the 'Alternate' (Gold) with the addition of two new Heritage strips. A bumble bee throwback for Balmain and the Horizontal Black and White Bars for Western Suburbs _(similar to the NSW Cup's Foundation strip that was worn at Birchgrove in 2008 by the Magpies)_. He said the training gear is different with it looking like actual tiger skin. Pretty neat by the sounds of it.
