I agree halfback is the most important position, but the way things have unfolded over the back half of the year makes us a little bit unique. Benji was shifted to 6 but still ran the show. He basically needed a halfback who was actually a 5/8\. Someone who liked getting into first reciever a lot, and who could take a back seat but also take the creative pressure off when needed. Its not something i would have even tried, but as it turned out, it worked great. Having a dominant 9 also helps with this formation.
I actually fear now if we get a dominant organising half, Benji wont be as effective. I know that goes against most of our thoughts the last 3 years, but the proof is in the pudding with his late season form. So overall, the 3 halfback options we have in Arana, Moltzen and Lui are perfectly suited to the role which the Wests Tigers as a team need. The trouble will be if Benji gets injured, i think then we'll be crying out for a top 7, but in reality, u cant go and buy a top half because u think your best player might get injured. As things stand we are very well placed for 2010.
