2010 team

Come round 1 I'm guessing

1\. Moltzen
2\. Brown
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Benji
7\. Taumata
8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighington
13\. Fulton

14\. Payten
15\. Cayless
16\. Shirnack
17\. Dwyer/Fifita/Moors

Fulton can be switched out of lock to be used as a utility.

*Flanagan has only played 20 or so ESL games so dont think he'll be a straight up selection.
*Daniella, Fitzhenry & Tupou will start in State Cup
*Gibbs is already a very fit player, I reckon Folkes will get him even leaner and he'll be a starter ahead of Cayless.

Okay,Im already pumped for next year.

Only based on announced signings..ala no Tuqiri, lima or skando

No expert and expect no one else having this team..but

1.Taumata
2.Tuiaki
3.Lawrence
4.Ayshford
5.Ryan

6.Marshall
7.Moltzen

8.Gibbs
9.Farah
10.Galloway
11.Ellis
12.Payten
13.Fulton

14.Fitzhenry
15.Cayless
16.Heighington
17.Shirnack

Okay,why???
Backs,
Like to see Moltzen at half forming a combo with benji with having taumata injecting into play ala Hodgo.Lawry
playing right centre, ayshford left with Tuiaki.Ryan Hmmm that Cowboy's game still bugs me,but don't think he's
as bad or slow as this forum makes out.I'll give him a chance on the right with Lawrence.Lawrence geez i'd like
to see him on the right side, speed and power to burn, can't forget him burning the grass down the right v Broncos.

Forwards
Was think Gibbs backrow but went Payten.Gibbs Galloway Cayless and shirnack in rotation up front looks good
to me.Payten Heighno and ellis in the backrow maybe with Gibbs there at some stage.Farah and Fulton,
Hooker and Lock,do I need to say anything?

Okay okay Fitzy what am i thinking..I can't believe it either..never been a fan of his(except maybe for the 1st few
months in his last season with us).I think my pack has enough fire power to have him on the bench to give him a run
at dummy half when Farah needs a rest.Don't really want him in the backline..well really at all.Would like someone
like Flanagan to step up in the lowers and snatch his role at #14.I think Fitzy would go alright just stepping up the
pace at hooker.

My team, really is a team that i think will have enough cohesion to start the season well.Like to see old heads and
keeping it simple early on.

Thoughts?

That would mean then Moltzen at fullback.

I don't mind that too much but it is gonna fire up some people on this site for sure!!

my bro spoke to payton today and he said taumata was gonna have the 7 for 2010

I can live with that even though i would have Moltzon @ 7
1.Moltzon
2.Tuiaki
3.Lawernce
4.Ayshford
5.Tupou (only if 100% fit)Tuquiri???
6.Marshall
7.Taumata

Thats still a smokin backline with speed & strength

The Team

1\. Loti
2\. Ryan
3\. Ashyford
4\. Laurence
5\. TT
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Cayless
9\. Farrah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Highno
13\. Moores
14\. Taumata
15\. Gibbs
16\. Payton
17\. Shirnack

I dont see fafita being far off if gibbs or shirnack aren't doing their bit, Flannigan and Fulton to fight for spots due to injuries. Daniella, Brown for state cup, fitzzy for waterboy.

so where does that leave moltzen? fullback i guess..

I bet it means Moltzen will play in the centres instead of Ayshford if we get Lote. That would be a big mistake. Moltzen offers nothing in the centres.

Nothing…. I must have missed the backend of '08 then.....I doubt Sheens would go down that road....

At least we have plenty of options in the backs.......maybe too many.......

Hope we just have stability ......whether that be Moltzen/Marshall (my preference) or Taumata/Marshall just stick with it.......the time for experimenting in the halves is OVER,,, :brick:

1\. moltzen
2\. tuiaki
3\. ayshford
4\. lawrence
5\. tuqiri
6\. benji
7\. taumata

14\. lazerus/lui

–--

im spewin that lewis most likely wont get a run...rumors round the camp is that he has resigned with titans feeta club..

I think moltzen will find himself in state cup or on the bench for first grade next year.

yes, demote the player that turned us around from 2nd last to 5th in a matter of weeks…
smart move

josh lewis

Didnt he sign with the Sharks?

Anyway, he's a very talented player, but ive finally accepted he isnt consistant enough for NRL. We have better options.

Lets hope Taumata doesn't suffer the Payto curse….the last bloke he talked up in the pre-season as the 7 was Josh Lewis....he never got near first grade.........

if that means lewis gets the jersey of taumata…keep talkin it up boys.

I posted this in another topic, however probably fits into this one as well:

I don't know why people on here keep thinking Tupou is a winger in our program. As the club has stated before he is going to be converted into a front rower.

When i saw them at Concord last week he is the biggest in the team and will fit in nicely to the front row. I see him as good value on the bench as an impact style front rower - i.e. last 20mins of first half, big menacing prop with good speed and agility running at tired forwards and A defenders.

Additionally you can slot him into the backs or backrow if required. Almost a bit Dave Taylor like from the Broncos/Souths, albeit with a little less ball playing ability.

He may fill the utility role allowing us to carry a dynamic player on the bench suck as Taumata.

Possibly a team like:

1\. Tuqiri
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Gibbs
11\. Ellis
12\. Heighington/Payten
13\. Heighington/Payten/Fulton

14\. Tupou
15\. Cayless
16\. Taumata
17\. Heighinton/Payten/Fulton

Pretty good looking side there with plenty of cover on the bench:

Backline - Taumata/Tupou
Forwards - Cayless/Tupou/Payten
Halves/Hooker - Fulton

What i even like better is the fact that when you go beyond the 17 listed there is still plenty of depth with the likes of Flanagan, Moors, Brown, Fifita boys, Akeripa, Fitzhenry and all of the young boys coming through. Plus there may still be another signing - Clinton, Lowe, Cashmere etc.

Getting excited already.
