2011 HALFBACK

I'll stick with Lui, he hasn't done much wrong, improving all the time. Now he has been picked for the Qld emerging talent squad and that tells me that Qld are looking beyond Lockyer and Thurston and see Lui as being quite a talent.

Lui at 7.
Moltzen on the bench.

Agree.

Dayum though, those votes are evening out.
Lui still going strong though, which is how it should be I think !

I think the votes are evening out now with the news that Moltzen probably isn't injured, so I think Lui was favoured early on in the piece.

Lui to start the year in the 7 jersey.

There is a spot in the team for Moltzen as well, I am just not 100% sure where that is.

If Lui does not impress, I won't be kicking and screaming if he is dropped for Moltzen. The only way we get resutls is by making individuals accountable for their own performance.

It is a great position to be in to have 2 great half's. No other side really has two quality 7's. I voted Lui as I still think he is the best young halfback I have seen (even although his best position may be five-eight). I can't see both staying long term. I like Moltzen as a player but my instinct is telling me that Lui will be a superstar of the NRL. I think Moltzen has a role in our top 17 but I don't think it will be at 7, time will tell.

i hope it is a big year for lui on and off the field.
the only way i look at moltzen is if i am worried about lui off the field.
we need a long term decision on our halves pairing for the next 4 years or whatever benji has left on his contract.
lui is a future star if he finds peace off the field.
but if he isn't on that path now,i'm more willing to just give it to moltzen when back from injury.

Doesn't really matter how our votes pan out. Sheens said way back before last year started that he saw Lui as our long term number 7\. I don't think anything has changed in that regard.
I'd like to see Moltzen in the 17 and preferably in the starting line-up - fullback, maybe… i wasn't convinced with him there but i'm prepared to give him another shot.
Just good to have great depth. There will be injuries in 2011 and players will get their chance to shine.

Sheens and more importantly Marshal will pick Moltzen…

Wrong again GEO… :unamused:

Sorry, Geo, but Watto is right (again :astonished: ) Sheens has already picked Lui at 7, and Benji will be on fire! :righton:

Hellz Yeah!
Lui is my boy for HALFBACK
Moltz is awesome but for me, he can slot in elsewhere.
Hope this is how it works out!
Want em both on the team but Lui FULL TIME HALFBACK.

LUI can be lazy at times and is the ugliest halfback in the comp.I'D prefer to have MOLTZEN, although i like the look of MILLER and in time think he will be the one.

Worst statement I've ever read, I'll just leave it at that because this forum has rules against insulting people, but wow…. THIS GUY!

& @ CHRIS HEININGTON comment, good news ! Feeling that.
Rather have a team of talent, than a team of good looking players, once again... THIS GUY!?

Can you substantiate your comment other than trotting the age old "we haven't lost a game with Moltzen" line?

I think he was referring his playing style as ugly.
I'm a little biased with Moltzen, he is just about my favourite player, but I think there is a massive gulf in their basic skills, lui makes too many simple passing errors, particuarly left to right, and his kicking is fairly average. I actually think it was our only weakness last year.
Lui fans say he finished the year well and he did, he played very well against St George, but he was his regular self right up to that game, if he was going to play how he did in the saints game all year, i'd happilly have him in all year.
however moltzen i think allows us to play with great width and is very zippy in the centre of the ruck, i wont bang on to much about moltzen, cause as i said im biased

Iam in the Lui camp but I would not complain if Moltz got the job. It seems that most people are dead set against Lui or dead set for him. I just hope he dosnt become the forum wiping boy. Anyway its a long season and they will both get plenty of chances and who knows Miller might sneak up on both of them
