2012-2013 Football (Sokkah) Thread

What's everyone's thoughts on their deadline day business? I'm disappointed we lose Fellaini but glad we got a good price for him, the way Martinez has used him I think we are better off taking the 27.5m for him. Lukaku and Barry on loan are good additions, as is McCarthy (although I feel we may have paid overs for the bloke). Hopefully Lukaku brings his goal scoring form to us, it is the only area we've been lacking in this season.

You certainly retained the better of the two that United were after. I had high hopes we'd pick up Baines, but alas…

Surprised no-one has mentioned the arrival of Ozil to Arsenal

Giroud is going to score a lot of goals now :stuck_out_tongue:

Good buy. Wegner is spending money now, can't use that excuse if they don't fire now.

I agree. Jelavić has been woeful for us this year (and much of last season). Lukaku will add that extra oomph to our attack, though we can't use him against Chelsea. I'm most interested to see how Barry goes, and who he'll replace in the side. I tip Osman will end up on the bench.

I imagine that Barry and McCarthy will play in central midfield together, with Osman and Gibson coming off the bench, with Barkley playing behind Lukaku. Pienaar on the left and Mirallas on the right with the usual back 4.

Jelavic seems completely shot at the moment. In his first half season with the club everything he scored was with his first touch, whereas now he has to take a touch before shooting and even then the finish is usually abysmal.

bit disappointed that Stoke beat West Ham 1-0.
as we know a week is a long time in sport.

Knew there was a reason I liked you Tahger

Lets hope we can win a game 25-18 hey

Carroll looks like he could be a disastrous signing for the Hammers

Has had a heel injury since last game of the 2012 / 2013 season and reinjures during rehab

Didn't see the game but it seems City gave it to United this morning

Have real concerns for the Hammers at this stage

Typically , we are injury ravaged with Carroll ,McCartney,Downing out and issues with VazTe and Big Sam

To make it even worse the replacement we were hoping to get Lokuku from Chelsea was picked up Everton and was the difference on the weekend

Wouldn't be surprised if City take it again this year with Pellegrini at the helm. Mancini squandered last season with the talent he had at his disposal.

I hear that the first EPL manager already gone 5 games in

Di Canio gone ,you shouldn't treat West ham legends that way

Same bloke who pushed a ref over after being sent off?
He's received more respect than he ever deserved.

He'd make Craig Bellamy look like Wayne Pearce.
