How did we play v Canada ?? Saw the result

Those I know who have seen it all said that we were uninspiring.

Someone from work said there is a chance we may play our next friendly v England at Wembley in November

Any truth to that , I thought we were playing our next friendlies at home ??

Harper said on commentary the second half was the worst half of football a team has played AGAINST Australia since Malaysia in Canberra a few years back (so there's a look at what we were up against). Canada have not scored an international goal in 12 hours of game play, and they forced Langarak into two good saves in the first half, and had another chance they blew. In the second half they offered nothing. On the ball we were solid if unspectacular.

Was Mark Schwarzer pushed out of the Australian side ??

Strange he retired so quickly from international football , was still was easily our best keeper still

Was pushed. Mat Ryan is seriously pushing for a spot though and Ange has been tasked with rebuilding the side (hence 5 year contract.)

Neill should have been the first head to roll.

I still think Neill can still play a role in the side , I just have never thought he is a central defender

Stick him on the right side and he's fine Problem is we have no one who can play as a international quality central defender

I've got this really bad feeling that the Hammers are heading back to the Championship even at this early stage of the season

Everton doing better this year and Man U doing worse…...common denominator?

Perhaps a touch early to make that call only being a quarter of the way through the season.

In saying that, it would be astonishing if Man United improved on the 2012/13 result of 28 wins, 5 draws, 5 losses no matter who the manager was.
Everton won 42% of their games last season and have won 45% of them so far this season. They finished 6th then and currently sit 6th.

I will reserve judgement until after the hectic Christmas/New Year period when the cream usually rises.

Knocked off Arsenal this morning so I'd say we're far from done Glen.

A ten man Sydney FC knocked off the Victards on Saturday night. FTT!

Very surprised that many had been writing United off , there was always going to be some early season issues with a new coach

There are still close enough if good enough

Oh and the Roar just keep rolling on beating the Mariners away from home

Friday fortnight Roar v WSW , will be a big game for both sides

Hi guys , just wondering if anyone has seen Felipe Caicedo play ??

Try Ecuadorian , I believe spent some time at Man City and now playing for Lokamotiv Moscow

Hammers are going to make a charge for him in the transfer window as a serious striker

Good player ??

We'll miss Bresca. Certainly the first of the old boys club that I'd pick.

Jets upset the Roar this arvo.

Good win by the Socceroos last night. It was really good to see a few players more comfortable on the ball. A couple of poor first touches cost us a goal or two and some more opportunities but there will never be the perfect performance.
Defense looked a little shakey at times. Matt Ryan just needed to be a but stronger vocally.

In saying that, Costa Rica were poor. They lacked energy and weren't too keen to pressure us on the ball. They pretty much let us play at times around them.

Looked a lot better in the second half, Costa Rica had no useful time with the ball and we should have beaten them 5-0 with the chances we squandered. Frostyclogshoes got his first win though and some of the younger blokes will only get better with experience.

Luca$ Neill needs to FOQ. Still managed to make the game about him. He's an arrogant bastard and needs the tap on the shoulder. That should have been Ange's first item of business upon his arrival.

Still had massive LOL's watching Carlos Hernandez waffle his way around the field. Once a tard, always a tard.

Holman needs to be kept IMO

**Lucas Neill isn't a central defender and his age combined with that makes me believe he is finished**

I'm up in the air with Bresciano as well

Tommy Oar needs to be utilised as well as Kruse

And if by some miracle we can find an out and out striker , Cahill needs to play as a midfielder who can push forward

Schwarzer must stay , he is keeping as well as ever

My set up would be a 3 2 4 1 .

I think we can get our defence right , but will still struggle to score goals v the top sides

That wasn't you that was abusing him from the stands the other night was it? Seriously, Lucas Neill needs to swallow some heart-Viagra and toughen up, what a friggin sook. He needs to be told that if Australians think that someone is an imposter then they will boo the bastard. What a thin-skinned tart he is. Glad Benny Elias or Wally Lewis weren't so sensitive when it came to getting a gobful from the crowd.
Neill is an embarrassment to Australian sport.
