I wake-up to see we have Chile, the Netherlands and Spain in our World Cup group. The media gets it's group of death and the players get their opportunity to play a few of the best players and teams in the world. Aussie fans have given up but I hope the team hasn't. There's no point in making a World Cup and praying for a generous group to get out of the group stage. You always want to play the best and this is an opportunity to show the Aussie spirit. Relish the opportunity rather then dread it. Make a name for yourself.

Couldn't agree more mate, you in a World Cup, and to be the best, you have to play the best.

Full draw, some very lackluster groups and some real crackers, Group C is my personal favourite as I can see any of the 4 teams in there topping it. If we had been drawn in Group D it would have been interesting, Uruguay (where there's a rivalry), Italy (we know what happened last time) and England (not a rival in this sport but still a sporting rival none the less).

Aside from Japan I can conceivably see every team from our pot (North America or Asia) finishing rock bottom of their respective groups.

Well we haven't got any favours in the World Cup draw

Drawn with Spain (1st in the world) ,Netherlands (9th in the world) and Chile (15th in the world)

Top 2 go through

By some miracle we get 2nd in the group , we will get the hosts Brazil (more than likely)

We play Chile 1st ,Netherlands 2nd and Spain 3rd

NOW THAT IS A WORLD CUP DRAW, each group is tough

I don't know , I'd almost back us to get a spot in Group E or Group F

I still can't wait until we draw England in a Group match

Hahaha. It's a good article and so true too. In the end the match will be determined by some luck and the 11 players who wanted it most and knew how to get the job done.

Don't get me wrong, it's highly unlikely we'll make it through the group, but you're always a chance when you turn up prepared and have a go.

At the start of the season , if someone had told me that West Ham would be within 9 points of Man U after 15 rounds I would of been ecstatic

Just can't believe how far Man U are off the pace

And I'm really concerned abut the Hammers staying up

Injury woes and little punch up front is killing the Hammers

It's been a crazy season, every week a team looks like stepping it up and the following week they get beaten by a low team. Arsenal are the only team to display any real consistency. At this stage Man City, Man U and Chelsea could all conceivably finish outside the top 4 unless they can get it together.

Bit of a goal feast in the Man City Arsenal game

Fell asleep multiple times during the Hammers v Sunderland game , if we can't beat Sunderland at home we might as well make plans for the Championship

Nice easy game the following week v Man U at Man U , if Man U don't put 4 + past us it will be a miracle

A-League related post.

Sydney FC got away with an ugly 2-1 win against the Jam Tards last night (Heart.) Despite the scrappy game, this alone was worth the price of admission:

Kewell had a mental meltdown last night. Way past it.

I still can't figure out what Harry was trying to do. Usually the body gives way before the brain.

He's scuffed the shot, tried to casually place the ball into the side of the net angling his body towards the left and shooting right. However, he's hit halfway up the ball if you watch the close up replay which has made it bounce into the ground and wide, quite a shocking attempt really!

West Ham decide to play their second side v Tottenham and win away 2-1

Message Sam ,maybe their your top side …...

If only we could play all our away games v Tottenham

I have no idea what is wrong with Spurs this season. I know they lost Bale, but they brought in so much quality. Soldado has to be the biggest flop of the season so far, but their whole side has grossly underperformed.

Just noticed that Suarez has scored more goals than 10 EPL sides combined and is equal with another club

IIIIIFFFF he keeps his head right, he's an out and out superstar

The guy can play when he is right , but my comment was more based on how the EPL is just getting worse with the haves and the have nots

I'm trying to think of any other world class competitions that the level from top to bottom is so large and consistently stays that way

But if the Suns and the Giants develop the early draft picks correctly and make use of the extra funds they have they will become stronger

EPL sides don't have that luxury , if you don't have multiple sugar daddies , you are royally screwed

Another win by the mighty Toffees, 13 points from 5 games (a draw away to Arsenal the only dropped points there). 2 points off the lead and our next 5 games are Sunderland, Southampton, Stoke, Norwich and West Brom. If we can continue our form we've got a great chance to nail down a top 4 spot (although I think we'll finish the season in 5th or 6th).

Really hoping Kwame Yeboah really works hard and develops his skills in the Bundeslige

He could possibly be our big hope as a quality striker for the Socceroos in the future
