2012 Halfback Super-Thread

The bad news for us is the Lui incident could carry on for months and months before he faces court.

imo we should tell Lui he is being cut eitherway. If found guilty we don't pay his 2012 contract and if innocent we pay him out.

This way every one has clarity about next year and we can focus on a replacement safe in the knowledge Lui will not be paid under our salary cap either way.

Maybe do a player swap with someone in the ESL, send him over there, so he can't play against us. Give Royce a ring or send him with gentle.

Agree, Id cut him regardless of the court results.

If he is found guilty, he won't be able to play in the ESL, unless it's for the Catalans Dragons, and they're right for halves.

I haven't the slightest idea what you're on about :sunglasses:

The two big rumours, either Prince or Mortimer, either way both are on big dollars & would have to be subsidised heavily by there current clubs.

I have to feel for the clubs management on this one.

It's hard to go and sign a halfback of any ability for no money. You would have to assume if they plan to sign a new half they would sack Lui. A difficult situation given the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

On the other hand. They don't sign a new half and Lui is later found guilty, the club may to forced (by the NRL or sponsors) to sack him. Then we are left without a halfback and may need to reply on Miller (who could prove a wonderful player)

Going to be a big call by the Board

Thats why they are on the big bucks GotheTigers
They will have a back up plan for either scenario I would think
The onus is on Lui to stay out of trouble though
If he has breeched his contract by his actions he risked getting sacked

I keep hearing whispers about a one Scott Prince returning to Tigers, just hope he brings his 2005' form not his 2011' form

Are they actual whispers from other people or do you hear whispers in your head? :crazy
Cannot see Prince coming back :roll

Doesn't prince have a massive contract until 2015 or something ridiculous like that?

Even if Cartwright said to him 'I hate you and you will never play first grade for us again' he would be crazy to leave. Wrong side of 30 and unlikely to get a anything more then a 2 year contract at about half of what his on atm

I agree, the onus is on Lui and he has put the club in this postion. If found guilty I assume he'll be punted

They will no doubt have a back up plan, but given the timing. Is it going to better than having Lui at 7?

Without trying to sound like I'm being smart
Of course we won't get as good an option as Lui

Unless by some miracle someone else comes available

How about Matt Orford :roll

Looking like a big mistake letting Moltzen go….I'm not too sure why we did anyway.

O God!!!!

You are not sure why we let him go?

Have you been watching any games this year?

Give me strength.

Here is an idea why don't we just back miller
Manly did it with DCE and it payed off.
sheens backed lui and it went ok
Lets back MILLER

I agree. Miller turns 20 next year, he may want to move on if an old half is added to the squad ahead of him. He could be special and we may as well back him.
