What about the Warriors u20s half back Jordan Meads?
Went well in the grand final including kicking the match winning field goal.

Sabre Seeing that Miller was the NYC Halfback of the year you probably lean towards Miller at this stage
But I'm just not sure about Miller just yet sorry either

John Morris put his heart and soul into everything and defended like a front rower too.

**Nathan Waters ain't an option that will get us into the 8, nor is a long term option to set us up for 2012**. Benji needs someone creative to take the pressure off him or he might start throwing the ball over the sideline again.

Has to be Miller.

Everyone said the same about Shane Perry??!!!

Good call tiger watto , didn't even know who he was ( premiership winning half back ) , had to Wikipedia him http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shane_Perry

ha, I had to look him up too!

Did you see the rest of backline around him for the premiership? 1.Hodges, 2.Boyd, 3.Stagg, 4.Tate, 5.Hunt, 6.Lockyer…. we do have good backs, but god damn, we aren't that good.

We have a player with all the skills a 1/2 requires is 20yrs old and ready to rumble one Mr J Miller he is ready I have no doubt in my mind.

snake ur dreaming theres no way miller is anyway near ready. needs one to two years in nsw cup.

Iam not so sure, a full off season working with the FG squad and plenty of gym work I think he might be ready to go. Okay he will be a work in progress for a while, but really the standard of the NSW cup just isnt high enough for a young player to learn their trade. Not many players progress through U20s than NSW cup than FG, most just go u20 direct into FG.

NSW Cup will do bugger all for him.

Suppose it will depend on the make up of the NSW Cup after the IC have their way
Hopefully they place a greater emphasis on it to improve the quality of the players coming through and the bigger and bigger gulf that is opening up between NSW Cup and NRL

Miller polarises people almost as much as the other 2 halfbacks we used last year (Moltz & Lui), some on here are really on him, others claiming he is rubbish.

I think we could experience Miller fans vs Miller deriders threads all year,

I just want WT to start the season with a proper, experienced halfback for once! Trying to manufacture halfbacks, shifting key players around to fill the spot or putting in rookies, who clearly aren't up to it - it's been going on since Prince left. This year we finally have a bloke, who gained experience from last season, was growing nicely in the position and looking good for next year, and he stuffs it all up! Back to sqare one again, unless we can find ourselves a real halfback out there in the market.

you can get away with an average halfback if you have a class 5/8, and vice verca you can get away with an average 5/8 if you have a class halfback. Just look at Shane Perry at the Broncs in 06

the other thing is with the tigers, because of Farah and Marshall, they don't have to be reliant on a halfback. As long as they have a link man they can get by

I disagree, firstly Shane Perry was in a team that was essentially rep standard, he was also a pretty decent player.

It's no coincidence that we have made the top four the past two seasons with Lui at seven - he has given us another attacking option and taken pressure of Farah and Marshall.

Prior to that we had a one dimensional halfback in John Morris and we all know how that went.

Don't fall for this idea that we just need a guy in the seven who can feed the scrum and pass a ball to Marshall - 100% wrong.

I think you are on the money Helmesy.

We have all seen how much Benji struggled without a quality 7 to take the pressure off him. He starts to throw out a lot more rocks than diamonds.

Miller is quality. If he doesn't perform, then the worst is he gets some great 1st grade experience at 7, ready for 2013\. If we go with someone like Waters, I don't think we will make the 8 anyway. At least Miller will give us the opportunity of winning a premiership next year.

I've heard comparisons to how DCE entered grade at 21\. Sure, DCE spent time in state cup. But what we don't know is could Manly have won both years if they had promoted him earlier? It doesn't at all mean that it was a necessary move to get DCE ready.

At this point Lui is our half back for 2012, should this change Miller will probably get another run in which case he will benefit greatly from a full pre season training with the nrl squad and it will be needed.

If Miller is the best option I would prefer him at 9 and Farah at 7

They're both specialists in their respective positions Happy, they're not going to be switched around like that.

No disrepect Willow but the way they played together last year with Farah at dummy half and Miller at first reciever didn't instill any confidence in me that we will make the Top 8 let alone challenge for the premiership
When Sheens (or by coincidence) they switched they looked far more dangerous
