2012 Heritage Jerseys

Dudes,

I saw the 2012 Heritage Jersey prototypes. They look good. The Balmain one looks almost the same as 2011 but the material is a bit different.

The Wests one looks really nice. Its a Thick horizontal stripe with two little stripes above and below it. Like the 1952 style. Its arguable whether it is as nice as the 2011 one but it will sell quite well.
I really think both of these will sell very well.

May at the earliest will be when we see them.

I was not allowed to take photos this time or take one home :wink:

On a side issue, a white jersey design alternative was worked on and I saw some of those as well. They looked good but the design has been scrapped for now anyway. It will be like last years.

What did the white alternative prototype design look like? Similar to the 10 year jersey?

'52 Wests based design should be great.

To speculate, we went from the v based heritage in 05/06 to the hybrid centenary in 08, to hoops in 10/11/12 + thick/thin hoop 12, so maybe next year or the year after we will see a return of the v style heritage jerseys.

I'd like to see the heritage jerseys take on the exact look of a past jersey similar to the 05 heritage Jerseys. I'd love to see plain orange with a big black V and black with a big white V.

I want to say form the outset that I am an ex- Balmain Tigers supporter. I never hated or liked the Magpies, and I hold no on-going grudge about not getting a fair go in the jerseys etc. Now we are together, the Wests Tigers have my absolute loyalty.

But, the Black and white striped heritage jerseys from last year are easily the best alternate I have seen us wear. Guess what? It has no gold representing the Tigers? But I don't give a rats, I think they look bloody tops and I am very disappointed it is changing and I couldn't get one of them last year.

If this years heritage is as described, I will have a look and get one if I can. Thanks for the update if its correct.

I'm an ex Magpie supporter, and feel exactly the same way.
If the jersey looks good, use it !

I am in that same boat, Balmain supporter from way back, but that Wests heritage was simply awesome! I'd buy one in a second give the chance.

Was thinking about this today and how dissapointing it is that the Heritage Jersey's wont be ready in time for round 5\. I would have bought one and many others would have as well.

Releasing them before the game and marketing them before the game would have been a bonanza.

I cant understand why they made yellow pre-season jerseys and heavily marketed and sold those, but refuse to do the Black and white ones two years in a row.

Does the FIB not want black and white in the crowd??
Am I too much of a conspiracy theorist??
Does anyone have an answer for this that is not just an educated guess?
Is it just another example of repetitive atrocious marketing decisions?

This week I was informed that the 'Balmain" Heritage jersey will be released a couple of weeks before the 'Balmain' celebratory game and will be marketed leading up to that game with a special release planned. When I asked about the 'Wests' jersey, I was met with coinfusion, uncertainty and told that there had been a stuff up.

Some retailers have been informed that the 'Wests' Heritage jersey will now not be released.

It just gets worse and worse and if the FIBs agenda's are not there for all to see then people are blind out there.

If the information you have been given is correct Bug then it is a disgrace. Two years in a row of no black and white heritage jersey is not right if it eventuates. Looks like I'll be pulling out the old one with 'proton' on it.

I have been told by league and legends that this jersey will not be released for sale to the public, but was told by the wests tigers merchandise shop that it will be, they are just not sure when. I don't understand why it's so difficult to get a straight answer, the bloke I dealt with over the phone at the wests shop was really weird about the whole situation.

They sold heritage jerseys 2005-2010\. Why cant they do it for now and beyond. They can do pink jerseys.

All old magpie WT fans should dust off their old black and white jersey for the day

Personal opinion is that we have been around long enough as a club where no Heritage Jerseys should be put on sale.

I like the players playing in the jerseys for a heritage round as it is an appropriate nod to the past.

I think WT jerseys should be all that is sold though and in fact bring back the double header jersey as our own heritage strip and have that on sale.

Really don't see get what you all see in the balck and white jersey. It's sooo boring.
Just wish they would scrap the whole 'heritage' thing….time to move on!

@lovemytigers - not wanting to stir the pot but that is clearly a dig at the other half of the JV

Wests - black and white
Balmain - black and gold
WT - black, gold and white

RESPECT the history of both 1908 clubs that make up the team we ALL here follow today. WT feels its important to honour the history with 2 heritage matches per year. 99% of the time WT merchandise is predominantly black and gold based.

Not a big ask to let some magpie aligned WT fans be black and white for ONE DAY of the year

If some WT fans want to buy a jersey for the occasion (and also help the club we ALL support) then that is a reasonable request.

Clearly you missed my point Wtfl1981\. All I was saying, and just my opinion of course, was that the black and white jersey, to me, is boring. I believe that it tends to blend into the background and doesn't stand out. Not a dig at anyone…I love my football for all the toughness and heavy hits but I guess I'm still a girl no matter how tomboy I act. So in this case it came down to fashion.... sue me!

I think you are just too sensitive on the issue....but again just my opinion.
