2012 Squad

B&W you are a legend. I am interested in the junior team coming through - in fact I find it a lot more interesting than talking about the First Grade squad. Are there any other players coming into the 20's next year that we have purchased from other clubs or that we expect big things from?

SO did Brendan reach Aust Schoolboys based on his form for the Dogs or in our Junior system? Just not sure exactly when he came on board…

he was picked on his form with the dogs and his form at school boys level too.played 18th man in the state of origin for nsw and then went on to have a supurb school boys carnival where he was named player of the tournement.almost won the sg ball cup for the dogs but wasnt used very well by his coach.big mistake :crazy by the dogs to let him go.captained bass high to a university sheild win over endeavour sports too.if he keeps developing the way he has, he should be in for a big next 2-3 years, only came on board very late in the season for the 20s,playing 1 game against cronulla and he didnt look out of place out there..

Thanks jmp, appreciate the info. Any other players you are looking forward to watching develop in our system?

The player im looking forward to seeing (excluding the ones we all know Tedessco, Noafluma, Sironen etc) is Kyle Lovett, looks very physical.
Santi is clearly a very good player as well.

Tigersmurf, Like you I get alot of enjoyment on trying to find the next generation. When I see a bloke that I rate progress from Matts or Ball to NYC, to NRL im like a proud father (despite having nothing to do with it)

Nothing better than a player on the bench that you know very little about (like Lawrence when he came into grade), and then watching them develop. I was dissapointed we didn't give Rangi Chase a better go. He seems to have made a fairly decent career for himself in the UK.

Rangi Spent some tome at the Dragons as well.

He always was spoken about a player that had some decent skills, maybe he just needed a change of scenery and a few extra years for him to finally click.

TBF he was stuck behind a good one in Robbie Farah, (our halves at the time were also Prince & Benji) it is understandable he didn't get a crack.

As you say Sparten, was always highly rated, just needed a chance.

Spartan you have to love any player who can score 5 tries against Souths no matter what level of football it is at

what about Billy Kit & Moses from Balmain??
are they ready yet?

I don't think they are ready but if Miller goes up to NRL they might just have to be.
Both still have a year left in SG Ball so I think they will let them finish those commitments first.
Billy has been training with the 20's but I haven't seen Moses at Camp Concord.

Might help if you read the FULL topic

What we need is some of those big kiwi forwards maybe Benji should be over there trying to lure some to our team. Does any one know if we have added some size to the forwards?

Hey guys,
I know there is a few kiwi forwards signed to the tigers or in training squad.

Firstly Samisoni Paasi - he went to tigers last year.
He is the younger brother of Agnatius Paasi (Junior Warriors/Kiwi)

He was injured so missed the first cut for the warriors in 2011\. But should have just stayed and forced his way. in.
think he played a few games for wests in NSW Cup.
He is a beast - a fuifui like prop.
a ball of muscle.

The other i heard is Setaliki Laula is training with NYC squad.
He played in the Auckland Senior Comp last year. At mainly prop but can play in the backrow also.
He is a gun w/massive potential.

He reminds me of feleti mateo & Ali lautiti - tall and has all the skills in the world.
But could also make the perfect modern prop - quick, tall, lean and high impact.

Just two to keep an eye out for. Both should really get plenty of game time.

Also young kiwi from Taranaki Kurtis Rowe who gone through keebra.
not a big guy 0 but has that killer instinct and plenty of pace

I think Danos summed it up right..He is a diamond in the rough.

Don't know How the club view him I thought he did well in the handful of games i watched but the coaches weren't thrilled about his Defence

Could be anything like TRex or might be nothing like Daine Laurie. At this stage I can see him just playing State Cup but depends how hard he works at his game. Doesn't really strike me as a worker thou and I don't think he will make 1st Grade.

Should of received more game time.
I watched him play in Auckland where his side won the local championship.
He was a Manu Vatuvei like winger.

Whats up with the tigers selection in the 20s
they changes their lineup all the time and then dont play some player much.
So much talent acrross all the squads
Is it purely for their development or is it too keep their price down or prevent them from getting pinched.

Guys like Junior Roqica didnt play much 20s
Yet he was in top 35 - personally it might helped his 'development'
but career wise - it hasnt done anything for him.
If he had played 20s he might have shone - been picked up by somebody.

I agree with ur thoughts on Junior Roqica, the 20s could have used his size at the end of the year but he never got a look in, and he also got little time in the Balmain team.

NYC profile photo's and a job for someone to list all the names.

Interesting to see Jordan Marshall in the squad B&W. Aren't there a few notable absentees from Keebra?? Fifita?

I also don't recognise many kids from last season. No Sironen, Miller, Tedesco in the squad….... are a heap being rushed into State Cup even though they still qualify for the 20's?

As the Scooby Doo gang would say..."we have a mystery on our hands"

The following will be backing up again in 2012

1 Jame Tedesco
2 Marika Koroibete
3 Matt Evans
4 David Nofoaluma
5 Jay Bonnell
6 Curtis Sironen
7 Jacob Miller
8 Jay Masueli
9 Ben Saunders
10 Matt Groat
11 Joel Luani
12 Kyle Lovett
13 Jesse Sue
14 Mosese Fotuaika
15 Brendan Santi

I believe that Jay Maseuli is too old to back up again in 2012, but hopefully he'll be playing NSW Cup as I think that he's a pretty good prospect. Good size and runs hard and has a decent offload.
