Cant win matches if you cant tackle.
Run at them and you win the game.
@Sabre said:With the reduction in interchange for next year does anyone think having a hooker on the bench might be a waste of a spot? I'd love to see both Cherrington and Farah there but don't know if we'd be better off with another forward?

They missed 170 between them.
Maloney and Pearce missed 158 between them.
12 MT difference, and yet we conceded 262 more points than the Roosters, who had the best defence in the competition (we were 11th).
Brooks and Moses are definitely a defensive issue, but they're far from the beginning and/or end of our problems.

I'd go the opposite… I feel having fresh legs/eyes out of dummy half will be an asset.
I'd suggest though either Farah or Ballin wont go off, rather slot into lock for 20min.

Yeah Farah/Ballin to lock is the only way having a bench hooker could work imo. Having Farah and Cherrington on the field at the same time would also be valuable to Cherrington's development.

As long as Farah doesn't overcall and continually take the dummy-half role because of an opportunity he spots.

@Byron Bay Fan said:Happy Tiger I will take comment of Robbie "I'd be happy if Cherrington gets Robbie's fire in the belly as long as he can control it" as a compliment. Good to see you have some admiration for the guy.

I think I'd rather Cherrington learning Ballin's strengths than Farah strength's
Cherrington already has a good running game , both Ballin and Farah are good defenders , but Ballin's service out of dummy half is better than Farah service out of dummy half
Add to the fact Ballin will have us playing more direct in attack I think it is a easy call
I'd be happy if Cherrington gets Robbie's fire in the belly as long as he can control it

Take off the QLD goggles, happy.
Ballin is not in the same class as Farah.
That's not to say he isn't a talented player who Cherrington can also learn off.
Every player has different attributes and, although I agree with Styker that signing Ballin was (after the debacle) a stupid move, Cherrington will have another experienced hooker to watch close up.
All things being fair, and without injuries, Ballin will be lucky to see first grade - at least at hooker.
