WESTS Tigers have been given a dream draw for 2015 by the NRL after being handed 13 games against 2014’s bottom eight, as well as striking it rich with six Friday night games and a blockbuster Easter Monday clash at ANZ Stadium.

But flip the coin the other way and 2014 grand finalists the Rabbitohs and the Bulldogs have got a huge task to back it up, with both copping tough on-field draws.

The Dogs in particular have been hit with the rough end of the pineapple, with eight games against the top four sides from the 2014 regular season.

Here’s a look at all the winners and losers in the 2015 NRL draw.

WINNERS

As usual the Broncos have been given silver service to appease major stakeholder Channel Nine, with 10 Friday night games as well as a guaranteed banker — hosting the Thursday night season opener against reigning premiers the Rabbitohs. They also have two byes in the lead-up to Origin games and a chance to get the season off to a good start with plenty of home fixtures.

Brisbane’s neighbours the Titans have also done quite well, with an Anzac Day fixture, a handy draw in the Origin period, as well as an opportunity to get off to a flying start — they take on just two 2014 finalists in the opening eight rounds.

For the second straight year, the Panthers would have to be rubbing their hands together after seeing their draw. Commercially speaking, they’ve got four Friday night matches and host an Easter Monday blockbuster. They also have two byes at opportune times during the Origin period, and couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable run home — they face the Eels, Warriors, Dragons, Raiders and Knights in the final five rounds.

But perhaps the biggest winners, on the field at least, were the Warriors and Wests Tigers, with both drawing a whopping 13 games against teams that finished in the bottom eight in 2014.

Wests Tigers have 11 free-to-air games on Channel 9 between Rounds 1 and 20\. Only the Bulldogs and the Broncos have more free-to-air exposure before August.

that's pretty damn good, for us and sponsors

with the start of the season still relatively quite warm glad they've done away with the day games first month or so.

we copped some tough games 2014 start of the year in hot conditions.

Conversely, a cold winter at our games is on the cards. Whilst we only play one game outside Sydney during the period (Suncorp), all bar the panthers game at Leichhardt are played at night.

Not happy after having a decent look at the draw this morning.

Theres really only one day game per round now….the 4pm (ex 3pm) game will finish in darkness...get used to nights

Yep, and it sucks.

I was hoping they may even extend the number of Saturday arvo games trialled this season, but that must not suit the broadcasters either and has gone by the wayside.

It may be good for the armchair fan and exposure wise for WT on free to air of a Friday night, but for many that like to attend, particularly those with young children, the ever late starting time does not assist.

8\. 2015 will be the first time that Wests Tigers will have played the New Zealand Warriors since 2011\. That year, the Club won both matches — a 20-12 (R2) and 26-22 (R14).

Surely I'm not reading that right? Haven't played the Warriors in 4 years?

i swear we played them this year in NZ?? we lost badly from memory

I think we played them in NZ, but not at the normal NZ home ground - I can't exactly remember where, but until that point, the Warriors had lost the last 6 time they played there.

Warriors game in Campbelltown should pull a pretty good crowd.

If the Tigers are in the 8 come the last few rounds, the Warriors and Dragons games will be huge.

If we're out by then, it won't matter who we're playing or where the game's scheduled.

I'm going to go to Campbelltown v Dragons..Monday night and an early start Tues,it will be worth it watching Benji come up to the old fan club…I think the team will try and give their heart and soul to win this one...for mine the 2 1/2 hour round trip will be worth it...

I have no problem with JT starting round 1 with the experienced guys. However if they don't perform after a few rounds. Bring on the young guns.
