2016 compare to leading clubs

If u told me start of year we would be 2-3 wins behind Broncos and Bulldogs I would of laughed

For all the obvious positive those clubs have over tigers.
Finances facilities cap issues etc
We have succeeded we have also resigned leading players and hopefully can add to depth
Then there is no excuse to aim at top 7 next year

Every team has there issues and comparing to a few clubs we have minor issues

The big difference is that the clubs behind us that are usually in the Eight will probably be back up there next season .

Yeh agree but as said if we can gain 2 players or juniors improve we will compete

Remember pre season we joked would we have enough players left. But the few that were released I don't think have kicked on.

Maybe. I think though that 2 things matter the most - how good the players are and how lucky you get when it comes to injuries.

There is no reason we can't be a top 8 team for a number of years if we get luck with injuries.

True but they have the money to buy the players they want, and they have no problem in attracting the top level players. Something we struggle with.

Let's not forget we are also ahead of Souths, Manly, and the Roosters. I wish that I had taken bets with my mates that support those teams about who would finish higher on the ladder

We are competing in clearly a much tighter Comp
So have the other teams gotten worse or have the comp improved
Manly showed they can compete. Roosters compete not constant winning but compete
I remember 10+ teams use to be a walkover

I get sick of people saying that when we lose and others win we're crap. But when we win and they lose, we're still crap and they've gone backwards. Ever heard of credit where it's due?

you might have won the battle but the war isnt over yet.

So no need to get cocky over a few win
I never discredit my team when they win or when they have put in an effort and lost.

Because everyone else they've beaten would also be entitled to 2 points and it really wouldn't change anything.

One main fact is usually the major hurdle in us being one of the better teams:
We always lose games to the weakest teams in the comp. We have given Newcastle their only win of this season and the Roosters gave us a belting when they were playing very poorly and had only won 1 or 2 games before they played us.
When we can start using cellar-dwelling teams as a virtual guaranteed win (and massive for and against boost) we will continue to be mid-table or worse. Good teams whip bad teams.

Because everyone else they've beaten would also be entitled to 2 points and it really wouldn't change anything.

the only other team that would possibly be affected would be manly in terms of making the top 8, how does 2 points not change anything?
