I don’t understand why GO had to thank the slimmy turd.

Well she did have to but at least she did it in such a curt way that her true message reads loud and clear. That was the club giving the middle finger to old mate "Iv".

Took the high road. Stay classy wests tigers.

Yep, it would've been easy to take the low road. You really cant fault how the WTs management have handled the whole situation.

There was a middle road and that was to make an announcement that Cleary had been released and leave it there. That would have been consistent with most fan wishes. I'm not sure you can call it the high road to make public statements that you really don't believe.

They got a good set up where go thanked hmivan leaving pascoe free to not comment on ivan.

1 year into Maguire's contract here, he'll start showing signs of "homesickness" and wish to return to the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs. Mark my words

Wests Tigers release Ivan Cleary

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that the club has released Ivan Cleary from the remainder of his coaching contract.

Cleary was contracted to Wests Tigers until the end of 2020 but has been released immediately.

Wests Tigers Chair Marina Go thanked Cleary for his efforts while at the club.

“On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers I would like to thank Ivan for the work he did during his time at the club,” said Go. “Ivan oversaw a period of significant change at Wests Tigers and his work will leave a positive impact on the club.”

Wests Tigers will announce the appointment of a new Head Coach shortly.

says everything…in saying nothing...Well done Wests Tigers...,good riddance..

Exactly, but the Maguire announcement says it all, it was not of our making, meaning Cleary asked to be released

Excellent announcements by the club…..stuck it up IC

Could not have worked out better for us. Thankfully, Cleary pulled this when there was a wealth of highly regarded coaches without a job. I’m proud of the club. It was frustrating not knowing for so long, but I’d rather them take their time and end up with the right man, opposed to panicking and ending up with someone not up to scratch.

Now that it is official Ivan will leave us with his reputation completely destroyed and in tatters. It is highly unlikely any club in the NRL would seek his services again.
Hopefully he has a terrible year with his mate Gould and they both get their fair share of karma.
It will be interesting to see what Maguire brings to the club imho he was far more preferable than Bennett

He will never have to work again under this deal.

Believe it or not coaches see it as lot more enjoyable than just a "job" he will probably never say so but his actions will hurt and haunt him for many years

I got an email this morning advising me the announcements.
I sarcastically said earlier I would be kept waiting ….. I was wrong.
Good to see the club thinking of its members as a priority.

True but as long as nathan performs he has leverage

Can only speak for myself but i wish nothing but misery for Ivan at the Panthers, as others have said i cant wait for the first signs of nepotism and disharmony from players that were maybe in Hook's corner. They've gone all in on this one Penrith acted in a pathetic fashion as has IC, good riddance he had me fooled as i thought he had integrity i am glad i wont have to hear the stupid on the bus rubbish anymore though.
