The problem was the Clubs media department running with the bus they made it more than what it was…

The culture thing such as be the player your team mates want to play with and star of the team is the team was all Cleary driving his mantra which now looks like a pile of crap ... it's where he lost his integrity ... and that's my opinion

That was what I was driving at. He was hammering home values to the team, the bus thing was a one off line, didn't mean he flipped on values he was expecting of his team.

You make no sense. He used the phrase against players to speed up contract negotiations.

he is now hiding and dragging out his contract negotiations.

Whole point his behavior goes against everything he has been saying.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Tu no hablas ingles?

This debate about the phrase is dumb. You should all stop it.

Yes where’s that Willow fellow when you need him now? He had no hesitation telling me and GNR to knock it off earlier when I was being accused of being flippant or somebody else or something, I dunno

100% agree. This is why so many of us are so angry - he sold this crap and his actions did not match his talk. He has no integrity and will not be looked upon the same again. He’s taken a big hit.

And then there are those of us who never got sucked in.

Amazingly insightful post - thanks.

Yeah I got sucked in as you so eloquently put it. I believed he actually wanted to start a rebuild and see it through. And yes, it is very disappointing that this belief was misplaced.

Apart from addressing personal insecurities I’m not sure why you felt the need to highlight the point that you weren’t sucked in

Sorry, but I’d be lying if I said I haven’t felt a slight satisfaction lately after being bagged from pillar to post and being accused of death riding him since the day he took over. And hearing how he was taking the club places. And now look at him.

Ok I get that. You shouldn’t be hounded for having an opinion. But I come at it from the perspective that I ( and most of us I’d say) was so sick of the ineptitude both on and off the field. It sounded and felt like Ivan cleary was going to arrest that and turn us around. But he was all talk - disappointing.

But - I think we will be alright with either Maguire or Father Time

So an article up on NRL.com is saying that Maguire has been interviewed by the broncos for 2020 so this may drag out for a bit longer despite what The Pom said earlier.

Yes I believe we want Bennett. The fastest way to get him might be to tell everyone we are going to sign the guy they want to replace him.

I wonder if we do psychometric testing of coaching candidates as well?

(yes, I had to google that too)

yeah Ill still get a membership, Club supporter, not individuals…waiting for the draw to be released...when is that anyone know?

This week apparently.

I’ll alao sign up when the draw comes out. Like to see what games we have and make sure I can make it to most (although I always end up getting a full package every year). Doesn’t matter who the coach is to me.

I’d be surprised if the draw is out this week it’s normally mid November/ early December

It was supposed to be out this week, but its been pushed back to next week. Something to do with Parramatta stadium.

WSS it's not Parra's Stadium.

sign Madge for 4 years and put all the speculation to bed. Uncle Wayne although obviously a top coach, is a traveling side show and we need a bloke without whistles and fan fare. In a way similar to Ivan. a quite achiever and we need a bloke long term. Basically we need this put to bed and the last thing we need is this to drag out for another year

Absolutely spot on! My only concern is I don’t think Madge has the same pulling power as Bennett when it comes to bringing good players along with him, especially since he hasn’t had a gig in the NRL for a couple of years. Who would follow him here?

whats the brooks news???
someone please fill me in, im lost 😕 😕

And what has the Club said about Maguire , to get everyone all excited about.
Just looked , and not a word about him.

The Poms post this afternoon. Said Maguire was the front runner.

That was from article somewhere This morning, just the same source as most things that we’ve read for the last couple of months, a “journo”.
No offence Pom, but unless it comes from someone involved it’s just another rumour

There are quotes from Penrith and from Pascoe confirming what most people with common sense can see has happened with Ivan the terrible.

Parra has refused to sign up to play there , sounded like some dispute over costs

I'd be looking at kiwi test players coming off contract within the the next season or two. I'm sure being coach of NZ would help in getting players to the club in my opinion.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into that personally.

That would be great if they stayed at ANZ we could be the sole tenants and make the place our own.

Neither would I. Did we sign any Australian players while Sheens was in charge.

Or Origin players signing with their coaches club. You are essentially believing that players will leave their current clubs to play under a coach who they play under 4 or 5 times a year. It’s drawing a pretty long bow.
