You guys think Benj will play on?

I hope he stops playing but am more than happy to see him part of the coaching staff

whatever Benj decides he's done more than enough for this club. Time flies man.

I met him at Bourban bar (kings X) back in my younger clubbing and partying days, when Benj was just coming out too and I was the only guy in the club/bar that knew who he was.

I said hello and he was suprised i knew who he was and he proceeded to hit on the girl i was with. I even egged him on to keep going. He was unsuccessful in courting my friend. My friend said he was a "smart arse" HAHA

Yell Nofo to go keep jennings as some depth buy lewis as the five eighth keep douhie at fullback in the front row lets have a look at super league and find a yough english prop we can throw some coin at or do we buy james graham for one year

James Graham??? Surely you're kidding.

God I hope so! James Graham has to be the most hyped up, overrated prop forward ever on this forum. I think the demonstrative, emotional way he carries on during games makes him look like he is a better player than he actually is.

James Graham was a great player 7-8 years ago, he was a fearless leader who busted his gut every single game, tackled like a demon and had very good ball-playing for a prop.
That was then, a decade or so of playing that punishing style of footy like he did takes a massive toll. He's ready for retirement these days.
Would've loved to have had him at WT back then without question.

A lot of variables...

Form, paychecks, injury, place in the 30 etc

I think so, and hope so

I think Mcintyre will take mqueen place in roster. Experience in reserve but a fill in if needed and possibly kick on later but 2yr max. Seyfarth should be pushing for spot in the 17

I can't say this enough , if Benji is still playing in 2021 our recruitment team has screwed up again

X1000000

Possible 2021 team...

1. Doueihi/Mbye
2. Nofo
3. Talau
4. J. Leilua
5. Addo Carr
6. Mbye/Doueihi
7. Brooks/Madden
8. Alaoia
9. Liddle
10. Musgrove
11. L. Leilua
12. Garner
13. Twal

14. Blore
15. Utoikamanu
16. Mikaele/McIntyre
17. Simpkin

18. Reynolds to Super League

Thoughts? Some promising young players, maybe not world beaters but could grow into something... OR do we need to recruit more heavily?

Been thinking about Madge players vs the ones he'd want to move on. As we know he likes people who want to win and will work hard.

Based on that, the players that appear to have that trait are:
AD
Nofa
LL
Twal
Aloiai
McIntyre
Blore (not convinced on this but too early to tell)
Liddle

Players that don't appear to have the killer instinct:
Mbye
Brooks
BJ
Eiso
Clarke

I'd imagine anyone on that second list would be on the chopping block.

Mbye was a half in a grand final team and BJ was a centre in a grand final team and both were among the better players in those squads. Madge needs to make it work with those 2. Also Madge made Mbye Captain id say he does have what Madge likes although perhaps not at the price

Bj no killer instinct come now bro he is our most aggressive full on player. We need him imo badly. Only strike weapon we have even though we refuse to use him for some reason .

Agree with the list other then that

How many do we let go ....12-15

Lets be real with ourselves ..how many are NRL standard as far as we match with Storm ,Roosters etc

Assuming Momo has been re-signed... How many you keeping from this list?

Alex Seyfarth
Benji Marshall
Chris Lawrence
Chris McQueen
Dylan Smith
Elijah Taylor
Matt Eisenhuth
Oliver Clark
Paul Momirovski
Robert Jennings
Sam McIntyre

For me Only Sam and Paul.
Now just add MCK, Packer, Reynolds and Our illustrious captan to that list if we can shift them without paying too much freight.
Also I seriously doubt if Bradley and Cini are worth a first tier contract at this stage of their career.

My query with him, is when things are going badly, when we give away a penalty or drop the ball, he's not someone I'd be confident about working hard and keeping his head in the game.

fair enough i see the opposite to be honest. he does the tough stuff like when he pushed the forwards out of the way against the panthers because they were going backwards. I see him as trying to hard when things are going bad.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree.

Our forward pack will be strong next year:

Utoikamanu
Musgrove
Twal
Garner
Lucy
Blore
Mcintyre
Aloiai
Mikaele

That is a strong exciting pack. That pack has something the tigers have always needed, big strong players.

Still need an experienced hard head or two in there, I know people will probably disagree but maybe Proctor/and or Welch to compliment the young guys would be huge

You missed out Aloiai but even still that pack would get absolutely murdered by a good pack. We are missing some consistent, experienced front rowers who can actually make metres. Aloiai is the only one in who will consistently run over 100m per game.

The only weak link in that list is Garner, his a second grader at best from what his dished up this year.
