If the only big signing we did was Ado Carr, and other spots are young hard working up and comers. (Which sounds like the most likely scenario)

1. Ado Carr (c)
2. Noffa
3. BJ
4. Deouhi
5. Momo (GK)
6. Moses
7. Brooks

8. Aloiai (c)
9. Liddle
10. Twal
11. Luciano
12. Blore
13. Talau
14. Simpkin
15. Musgrove
16. Mikaele
17. Stefano

18. Madden / Walters
19. Garner
20. McIntyre
21. Bradley / AJ

My crazy move is moving Talau as a ball playing lock, in a Radley or Murray mould. He came through grades as a 5/8th and has the size, just needs to work on tackling in the preseason.

Need addition of an experienced forward leader like Tamou but sounds like we need to move on Packer or Reynolds.

Also like to see 7. Madden 6. Brooks when Madden is ready, sometime in 2021.

It's funny how people think Maguire can attract quality players. At the end of 2021 he will have gone 5 years straight finishing outside the 8.

In the last 10 years that Maguire has coached, he has only missed the finals three times and has won the comp twice.

Yeah thats a coach I could get behind as a fan or a player.

He doesn't have Rusty as his recruiter anymore so now he's relying on his own attributes and look how that's going ?‍♂️

How is this team he has been given HIS team... Until he can offload Reynolds, Packer, Mybe (over 2 million of wasted cap space a year) he cannot recruit the player he wants/ needs .. Give him 2 more years and then judge.

I bet you if Belly, Robinson or Bennett took the job when Madge did we would be in the same position. Its a Terrible non balanced team that will take 3 years to correct and now that he is in a position to make changes people are complaining..

I don’t think with this roster anyone expected miracles, but I expected improvement. Unfortunately we’ve gone backwards. Whether he can recruit effectively remains to be seen.

No,
Table wise we have gone down.
Where the team is now compared to last year, were in a better position. The big problem is we went against Parramatta and just got bludgeoned. No way could we have held our own like that last year.

No Farrah, No Matterson. While Harry Grant has been awesome and better for our team then Farrah, we quickly realised that he was a loaner and will be going back. All this has done is exposed our deficits in building a good solid replacement.

Liddle isn't reliable, let alone 80 minutes.

Were relying on former greats who should have retired.

I think I read on here he has signed/re-signed 20 players so I'd say it's more his team now.
I was a fan of Maguire's signing because he said he'd learnt from his sacking at Souths but to me it's obvious he hasn't and because of that quality players aren't signing here. If we do get the world's best winger and play him at fullback it'll be another mistake imo

Mate if his brought 20 players they will mainly be young juniors / development players..
As I said previously there is 3 players taking up over 2 mil in salary cap each year (plus Farah cap Breach) so he cannot buy anyone decent yet.... If you think this is his team you need to have another good look at the squad. We desperately need go forward with some hard nose players like Funua-Blake, JWH, Tapao etc.. He is trying to offload these players that are not performing and once done we will be fine...
Anyone that thinks this is Madge's fault have no idea IMO... As I said give him 2 more years and you will see.

Well one of us will be wrong if they extend him for another 2 years and hopefully it's me ? but I won't be holding my breath after the last 2 years of his coaching and players going backwards I just can't see it ?

Hmm, we have half a dozen spots to fill, but based on what has been discussed on here lately...

1. JAC
2. Nofo
3. Joey
4. Talau
5. AJ
6. Doueihi
7. Brooks/Madden
8. Tamou
9. Liddle
10. Aloiai
11. Lucy
12. Blore
13. Twal

14. Mbye
15. Musgrove
16. Stefano
17. Mikaele

If AdoCarr comes then
JAC
Nofa
BJ
Douehi
AJ/Talau/ Momers
Mbye
Brooks
Twal
LL
Garner
Aloia
Liddle/ Grant
Musgrove

Utoikamanu
Mikelle
Blore
Macintyre

I though Mbye really changed our team being at the back last night with his ball playing and calmness but if we get JAC then he is best served at 5/8

Still think our weakness in the pack is best served by a 2nd rower as Garner isnt up to starting NRL every week imo but not sure who and any team needs more then 4 props so Im ok with Tamou for 2 years with leadership.

In reality we need to clear Reynolds and Packer out our cap

I know everyone hates Proctor but I think he would improve our side. He is about 20x better than Garner to be unbiased

I’d be re-signing McIntyre and in pre-season challenge Blore and McIntyre to get rock hard fit to play 80 minutes.

If they can do it then the hardest worker gets first crack at that right side second row position.

Garner is not the answer and I’d prefer to see McIntyre on an edge and use actual props in the middle.

McIntyre's fitness isn't so much the issue as opposed to Madge staging his introduction into FG. A solid pre-season for both will see them in top shape next season.

I do recall some comments from Blore when he came across earlier this season, he was in awe of how much Mikaele can lift in the gym, so going off that, I suspect Blore will be looking forward to hitting the weights.

Spot on. A big component of our 2021 success is the performance of McIntyre, Blore, Musgrove and Stefano.

My team for next year would focus mainly on trying to get the young crop into regular decent minutes, as with so much salary wasted on Reynolds and Packer it really seems like a building year where we could maybe nab a spot in 7th/8th but regardless we have little chance at being up with the elites.

1. JAC
2. Nofa
3. Leilua
4. AD
5. Kepaoa

6. Madden
7. Brooks

8. Aloiai
9. Liddle
10. Twal
11. Blore
12. Lucy
13. McIntrye

14. Stefano
15. Musgrove
16. Mikaele/Garner
17. Mbye

18. Mikaele/Garner
19-21. Momo, Talau, Simpkin

The rest - Reynolds, Packer, Cheekam, Walters (injured half the year), Cini, Bradley, no.28.

Presumes we only sign JAC and only re-sign McIntyre. All development get promoted bar Hoffman who still has a year development contract. Room for one more player (Eisenhuth? Matheson Johns? Externally sourced?). I hear Simpkin is real good but a year with no games concerns me and would bring him in for Mbye later in the year perhaps. Same goes for Madden, but halves for me are our weakest link and Jrey not part of future post 2021 and Walters injured too.

I honestly wish people wouldnt have such high expectations for Stefano next year,he has had very little chance to learn the ropes this year at the slugs and is very young.I can only imagine some of the rubbishing by a few on here if he isnt the reincarnation of Artie Beetson from day 1.I am not saying you are one of those supporters helmsey
He will need time and experience and Madge is certainly the right coach to develop him imo

I like the make up of your forward pack and bench. I think Doueihi wont feature in the centres next year. He is too one dimensional with his height, isnt agile enough to be able to get around his man. He is a 1 or a 6 and I think he will be our 6 next year.

Wouldn’t mind Doueihi at 6, just not sure how he and Brooks would gel. We got plenty of outside backs to reshuffle in his place if we moved him though which should work to our advantage. All pretty versatile too, Mbye, Momo, Talau, AJ
