Love the Tour.
Watch it every year and will never forget Cadel Evens efforts year in year out just so much guts to even be competitive. Would love Richie to have a crack but can’t see it this year. The scenery is always spectacular & key facts about landmarks is awesome. Have been to a few spots where they have raised 2yrs ago which was a buzz.

Richie lost a fair bit of time today and unless they neutralise the time I think he is done already. Thomas finished top 10 so he will be the clear leader unless something eventuates.

Love the tour! It is an amazing endorsement for tourism in France and the other countries that host stages; absolutely beautiful.

The spectator with the sign that caused the first crash today - what an idiot.

Man, those were some horrendous crashes.

I’m also a casual observer but have become a bit more interested after buying a road bike for the first time around 3 months ago. I live in the Swiss mountains on a lake so there are some very scenic rides around my way.

I saw the deputy director of the race has said they will sue the spectator that caused the pile up.
The fans on the roadside are lucky they can get so close to the action and that contributes to the spectacle.
They need to do something to deter the imbeciles that get themselves in the way, will be interesting to see if they actually pursue legal action.

Nah I’m just interested in the crashes and oh my wasn’t there a beauty yesterday. Hopefully no one is hurt.

Personally, I can’t stand bike riders.

There is always an idiot somewhere on the route.

Really good to see Mathews finish second on the stage, Porte is pretty much a support rider now after losing 2 mins to team mate Thomas.

Only Sport you can win something and never had to cross the line 1st at any stage..dumb..

Isn’t there supposed to be a weapon kid coming through , I can’t remember his name , basically he should be fighting for overall classifications very soon. But he’s a shot at the young riders jersey ?

A lot of Motor Sport championships it is possible to win the championship without winning a race.

Has no chance now will just be a support role.
Have seen time made up over the years but have never seen 2mins made up whilst a team favorite is up at the top (even with injuries).

Yep something would need to happen to Thomas in the next couple of days to be a shot.

You can't believe the stupidity:

Sorry I found it hilariously funny that a bit of cardboard caused an accident that big.

What an amazing effort from Van der Poel.

Regardless if you’re a fan of the Tour or not, as a sports fan to see the emotion after the race in his interview - he was actually speechless and broke down which is rare. It was more than a race, it was about his family legacy.

His family history was his grandfather finished 2nd sooooo many times and never got to wear the yellow jersey, today his family has now done it.
