I don’t know the point of this “depth chart”. It’s not like the NFL. Dillon won’t play NRL at all in 2022 for a start.

No won’t but it’s good to see you we have as cover. Looking at that list who do you replace Laurie with if he breaks his leg again?

I can guarantee Dillion won’t be the one to replace him. I’m a little bemused by all the talk lately of back up fullbacks. I didn’t know such a role existed. Usually if a fullback goes down you either shift a winger back there, or someone else. If AD wasn’t injured, it would be him.

I agree Dillion is highly unlikely to play firsts next year. He still needs to develop his game and isn’t eligible at the moment anyhow. AD isn’t available until round 8 or so.

If Laurie goes down in the trial who do you have playing fullback?

I’m not sure. It isn’t at the top of my list of concerns. He might end up playing every game for all we know.

Not the top of my priority list either but looking at the listed options it go me thinking. All I could think of was Nofoaluma which is disgusting.

Hastings idea works for me but hopefully Laurie plays all season. Doesn’t help to plan for all scenarios to ensure the squad is balanced.

To me, it’s sort of like why you don’t put a long stop behind the keeper in cricket. If the keeper misses, it goes for 4. You can’t plan for things that might not even happen. Sometimes you have to decide on the fly. I’d say if fit, it would be AD.

All this talk about waiting to 2023 is crap the squad is capable of playing semi finals if they all play to their potential lets all try to be positive now

Nothing wrong with being realistic. We’ve had much stronger squads in the past that have finished outside the 8. This is a bottom 4 roster.

As a train and trial player he’s in the mix for first grade this year. After round 10.

Kepaoa also in the mix

Gosh I hope our football staff aren’t thinking that way. A good coach would have the next two back ups lined up and ready to step in, especially given Laurie is coming off injury.

That statement is RUBBISH!!!

If you can only name 3 other sides, we’re still bottom 4.

Yep. Agreeing with ya. We are definitely a bottom 4 roster.

Def agree, we will be lucky to avoid the spoon.

This is why we need a new culture and attitude that keeps our team in the game even if we down on the scoreboard.

202w is all about credibility and will require a few upset wins.

The Titans halves aren't great, Fogarty played well for them this year and will be a loss and AJ Brimson at 6 is a huge unknown. I think they'll slide down the ladder next year.

To me it comes down to how well gelled they are as a group. I thought the NRL squad last year underperformed, but it was obvious there were headspace problems, for whatever reason. There seems new energy and purpose since the arrival of Sheens and I am hoping this will spin off to the NRL squad. I'm expecting big years from Stef, Laurie, Blore, Kepoa (as a centre). I'm also interested in how the new recruits, Hastings, Gildart and the young rugby convert (can't remember his name) perform. One thing they all won't lack is motivation.

The Spoon ain't decided by talent it's decided by commitment.

We have the talent to make the 8

Well the commitment wasn’t there this year. There was games where they just straight up dogged it.

G'day @colinbh
Not having a go at you, but gee it would be great if you thought a bit more about your words in reply to gnr4life.
I reckon he [or any other poster] deserves to have his post/thoughts respected even if you strongly disagree.
So cant you just say I strongly disagree rather than "statement is rubbish".
