[2022] If Madge goes, who you have as a replacement?

Culture is driven by senior players... finding those players with grit and the will to win is the key to our success, I cant recall recruiting any in recent memory.
We need to find players like Cameron Smith, Paul Gallen, Sam Burgess and Luke Lewis type players are needed to drive the herd otherwise the inmates are running the asylum.
That's why I believe that Dale Fincune was a massive flop in my eyes as he is the perfect modern day example a player that leaves it all on the paddock, currently we have too many followers / posers, however, I believe Hastings and Doueihi have it but need more time on the paddock to show there worth but they will just need help until then.
Api and Papallii' will help to drive standards next year!!
Agreed. I at first thought TPJ over Finucane for performance reasons.

Then I realised, Cronulla with a good playing culture was investing in Culture!
yes a club with lots of grit and hard workers, wanted more grit and hard workers.

Wests Tigers keep picking the "moneyball" picks. Players like Luciano, Hastings, Stefano who had potential to do a lot better then on paper. The picks are not team centered or to fill/perform a particular role NOR on culture.

100% right in going for one of TPJ vs Finucane specifically and exclusively. We picked the wrong person to go for. We need more then one loan leader to boost our pack. (I suspect this is why Tamou hasn't worked. Put tamou with say Finucane and Sims/Tolman/Bromwich and you get a pack that pushes harder).

Bottom line = we need to make a decision.

Recruitment is happening right now and players need to know who the coach will be in 23.

Sharks model is perfect. Sacked their coach / caretaker / head coach announced quickly and was able to recruit.

We can't stuff around...players need to know.

If Madge goes, will that give our two big signings for 2023 a out. Funny thing a lot of people talk how Madge is unpopular with players, but you also hear a lot of players giving him the thumbs up.

2022 is a write off, unless it gets absolutely ugly I would stick with Madge, no other coach is going to do better with the cattle we have available
Some think our roster is rubbish, it‘s not, middle of the pack yes, but we’re better than last position and the current 8 losses in a row.

Madge is now in his 4th year, he built this team but he‘s now proven that he can’t coach his own squad.

It all starts from the top down.

Sorry but no. Our roster is mostly rubbish with the exception of Stef, Luc. Kelma, AD and maybe Hasting's (too early to tell). The rest are either discards or too young to contribute at this stage. Madge spent largely the first 2-3 years having to work with players on large salaries like Packer, Mbye, Reynolds etc in key positions. Madge has won premierships in the two best RL competitions in the world while the Tigers haven't made the finals in 10 years under 5 different coaches, 3 of which are premiership winners. Who's proven more? And what does that tell you about the club?

Let's look at the team:

In arguably the most important position, we have a halfback on nearly a mil per year who can barely kick for touch, throws at least one forward pass a game, and is incapable of leading a team around despite having opportunity after opportunity to do so over 8 years. At fullback, we have a guy who cares more about skateboarding and his old team then he does actually competing for the team and refuses to attack the line (not to mention he was brought in early without Madge knowing, apparently). We have two wingers, one who is and has always been defensively inept and refuses to improve, the other being slow and lazy.

Our current hooker, Liddle, fails to get to marker at times and gives garbage service. Twal is a good defender but that's about it, a plodder in terms of attack. Our centres are also defensively inept, not to mention are good for a few dropped balls and silly penalties every game. Garner is a NSW Cup player who loves to have a giggle when he gives away a dumb penalty although to his credit, has tightened up his defence. Mikaele and Musgrove are good for a couple of dropped balls and dumb penalties every game.

TLDR. Try 200 words or less to make your point.

Anyway, happy Easter and let’s hope we win tomorrow!

Tell me a roster that is worse. Maybe the Warriors are close to us in standard, but that’s it

Agree, worst roster and if we keep Madge till the end of the year and we end up with teams below us, does that mean he's not that bad a coach after all?

The only kind of coach I could see us attracting is one who has absolutely no other prospects to coach anywhere else. A guy like Ciraldo whose being groomed as the next big thing in the coaching world would be well advised to give us a wide berth. Someone like John Morris could be a possibility, as I don’t see him getting an NRL gig anywhere else anytime soon. He might be the best candidate we can attract.
For Ciraldo or any of the guys waiting for a gig - surely the next job is the best job? 99% of NRL coaching opportunities are going to open up due to someone getting sacked, and thus with a club at a pretty low ebb.
There are only 16 NRL head coach roles, and the current top gigs are all locked away for a fair while.

If Madge goes there is only one replacement that has a chance of saving this club….and that coach is Ciraldo…..he will attract plenty of young players to the club….

Would he want the job though? Word is last year he didn’t

Yeah but there’s probably higher ranking clubs with higher expectations that if they fail will likely be looking for the next up n coming coach, Parra comes to mind. If I’m Ciraldo and I’m looking at Tigers or potentially Parra even though Parra might be a little while down the road, I’m holding off for Parra. I can see us with another NRL coaching reject like Paul Green or another John Morris.

Maybe just order calf's blood direct when the abattoirs are doing veal to cut out the middle men.
bring back Junior;s,Tigers blood, with a side shot of Triggunboffens,[sorry Harry]win bonus.the calves blood will only throw the salary cap out of whack

I'm sure he and others would prefer Parra, Roosters or Souths over us - but the reality is those jobs won't be available for a couple of years.
It's a long time to wait.
