2024 State of Origin Teams

Have to say last nights women’s SOO was pretty poor especially from a NSW standpoint. The standard of the second game was much better. The NSW girls just did not handle the occasion or the difficult conditions last night. I’m inclined to think that on a dry track NSW win the series.
In saying that I still think that the women play with incredible intensity and effort with many possessing decent skill sets as well. They are tough uncompromising players with great attitudes. I’m sure they will only get better at the game.

It doesn't mean "no changes" at all... it was a throw-away line after a flogging!

Billy looked shell-shocked to me. Didn’t have an answer either from a coaching perspective or a media perspective. I am sure that they will produce a huge turnaround in attitude for game 3.

NSW have been dealt a huge blow with Latrell Mitchell set to be ruled out of the State of Origin series decider with as foot injury.
NSW and South Sydney officials confirmed to this masthead on Saturday that Mitchell was in grave doubt for the clash against Queensland, and was undergoing further scans.
Latrell Mitchell looks set to miss Origin III because of a foot injury suffered in Thursday night’s game for Souths.

Mitchell suffered the injury in the first half of the Rabbitohs’ win over Parramatta on Thursday night, but played through the pain and finished the game.
His absence will mean NSW coach Michael Maguire will turn to either Newcastle’s Bradman Best, Canterbury’s Matt Burton, Sydney Roosters’ Joseph Suaalii or Manly’s Tom Trbojevic, who returns from a hamstring injury on Saturday night against North Queensland.

It also emerged on Saturday the Maroons had shut down their open media day on Tuesday in a sign coach Billy Slater was feeling the pressure of potentially losing his first Origin series in charge.

Turbo In !

Latrell is such a big blow for nsw damn.

Joseph will likely play. I think Madge will pick him. Just tackle a little lower son and watch for the entire qld team that will be targeting him lol.

With Barnett there, I think we are the only team without any SOO players this year, not even in the extended squads.

Funny enough, Sharks from memory only had McCinness and they're 2nd or 3rd on the ladder.

You've got to think there's something more going on in regards to Fifita. Are you telling me he's not better than Capewell, Nanai, Kaufusi & Piakura?

It could have been his attitude in a previous camp or people are saying Nick Politis has compromised Billy lol

Nanai was horrible last game. It wasn't just Crichton running on top of him, but his spacing was off, his hit ups were soft and there was no urgency to scramble. Very baffled to see him picked again. Sua started bad but made up for it later I thought.

Billy Slater is a stubborn bastard, can imagine he’s the type who would push back at the masses of people asking him why he is overlooking David Fifita.
Never the less it’s one of the worst selection mistakes in State of Origin history, who in their right mind truly believes the form of Kurt Capewell or Felise Kaufusi has been better than David Fifita ?
